Yes, you do need to try again. The fact that you don't even see how means you need to either stop and think of just stop.

BvS was at a 73 for most of its run. But many said that this was bad as movie ratings go.

Ummm no it wasn't? BvS has a 27% Rotten Tomatoes score, and a 44 Metascore...

I read the bad reviews and the good reviews. It seems the bad reviews just trash the movie and the good reviews call it competent.

So, I went and seen the movie myself last night. I took my 18 year old son too. We both thought the movie was decent, something like a 6 or 7 out of 10.

I think the man hater claims are kind of true, as literally every male character was either complete evil or a complete fool.

Still, harmless summer fun and worth a watch.

Reviews in Entertainment Weekly, LA Times and The Hollywood Reporter also panned the film.  It's just not that good.  Not awful, but pretty mediocre.  But it's hilarious watching people trying to defend it just because it features an all female (and Chris Hemsworth) lead cast.

You know what's even more hilarious? People assuming that that's the only reason any reviewer would praise it or give it a decent score. God forbid they have a different sense of hunour than the people who haven't watched it.

Ghostbusters was the one movie I was absolutely certain would be even more poorly received than BvS.  Whoever made the trailer should find a new line of work.

I'm pretty much this. Trailer didn't jump out to me. I'll probably watch it as a rental as the missus really wants to see it. Not expecting much but don't get pure hate.

 

I feel the same over alot of the current remakes. Robocop is my favourite movie of all time so the remake is an abomination, but that said, I made myself pretend it wasn't Robocop, and actually found the remake alright as long as I distanced it from the original.

 

Maybe people just need to do the same with Ghostbusters.

Maybe but it was the first one that I saw after a long time. The Babadook just wasn't scary - great concept for a monster but barely in the movie. And seriously, fuck those its-all-in-the-head movies.

Different strokes I guess.  I enjoy a creature/monster more if it's fed to me lightly rather than hand-fisted to me every other scene - The Silence of the Lambs and Jaws are notorious for doing the former and they're lauded as two of the greatest films of the genre.
