Referring to the problem as just "Muslims" is a big big big problem. These are not people practicing the Muslim faith, these are people practicing Muslim extremism and are completely separate from the religion itself. They have taken and made it say what they want it to say, brainwashed in a way, and THEY are the problem. Extremists, not Muslims as a whole.

Also, this agenda and profiling is awful. Muslims are worldwide, it is a WORLDWIDE religion, understand? Not every Muslim looks exactly the same, racially profiling Middle Eastern looking folks is just wrong and completely racist and bigoted. Now, I understand the root problem, I am not a leftist, I am not on the right, I don't affiliate with a party. I am a human being, using my human mind, to formulate my own thoughts and opinions. I don't believe everything I read and hear, I research. I piece things together using different publications, opinions, announcements, and news. I try not to be biased, but informed and thoughtful. These posts that are on the side that simply says "We know what the problem is, MUSLIMS" YOU'RE a huge part of the problem.

They're actually probably beyond "extremists", they are literally a death cult. They are so wacko that even the "extremists" like Al qeada have criticized ISIS for being too crazy, lol. That's when you know you're in nutty territory when even the guys who did 9/11 are like "damn, y'all fucking crazy".

They believe the end of the world is imminent and that their goal is to create a war that will bring about apocalpyse, and yes they believe even that Jesus will come down and there will be a war that destroys the planet because blah, blah, blah.

Charming fuck wads.

These groups have existed since the dawn of Islam. They are known as the Khawarij. They've killed more Muslims than any other group by claiming Muslims are not Muslims. Basically, you are either with them or against them.

They tried to kill the prophets companions after the prophets death and even massacred a whole bunch of Muslims in mecca.

As Soundwave pointed out earlier, the problem is when the western powers backed conservative / extremist families in the middle east, empowering them and supporting them to take down liberal Muslim groups.

The second problem is when you put regular Muslims in the same group as the death cults, you end up having young regular Muslims into a corner as they get pressured from all sides and since the world is telling them these extremists are Muslims, the extremists use that to brain wash them.

The biggest problem however is, rather than joining up with regular Muslims and supporting them to fight these extremists groups, many people side with extremist ideologies, saying that is true Islam and that realy is what Muslims are like. They end up validating these idiots and in the end everyone suffers from it.

This year has proven, no one is safe from these groups, not even Muslims during the holy month, non Muslims celebrating a festival or everyday folk just going about their daily business.

That sounds nice but at the moment I don't have any plans to leave this country. Israeli education isn't too shabby either :P

A refusal to assimilate and accept the western culture.

Come to think of it, are there contemporary cultures that you might call western that are more or less successfully assimilated Muslim minority? Or maybe otherwise, Muslim culture assimilating western minority?

Not a whole lot and I think it's because the principles of Islam prevent assimilation.

All the Abrhamic religions if taken literally are barbaric and ass backwards. They were written hundreds of years ago for a tribal desert culture, what can you expect.

Christainity is basically just like a dog that's been neutered and had its teeth removed, because its been forced to liberalize to exist in a Western liberal society.

Unfortunately Islam is not in the same boat and reformation of religion is painfully slow because religious conservatives are always a royal pain in the ass. Religious types always think their POV is infalliable and perfect because some book written 2000 years and editing 5959595 times informs their entire world view.

Thankfully though most people in actual practice are not so naive or willing to at least subconciously kind of ignore the dumber/nuttier parts of religion, and that's true of the vast majority of Muslims (same goes for Christians and Jews).

Unfortunately it only takes a fraction of a percentage of people to cause incredible damage. And that's where we have problems, the Middle East has been devastated socially and ravaged economically over the last 30-40 years that there's no stability there which allows pockets for religious extremists to thrive.

Christianity has been declining for decades now. So not with Islam - it's growing so it will never be a "neutered do" as you put it.

The Canadians and Americans are huge supporters of Israel ,so you shouldn't worry about getting admission in any university.

It's not so much the admission process I'm weary of, it's the fact that some people would freak out when they hear my name :P

Nah, don't need to worry about that, at least in a university. Students are more mature, open minded and not so backward.

I'd think so, yes. There's also the problem of a lack of funds. I don't think Idk where to turn for scholarships..
