I find it odd that I have to tell you this, if paying Apple is the only way to be featured, most start-ups would be put off and have much smaller chances in making it big in the App store. It's common sense.


And OP, you already said it, Pokemon Go is topping the App store chart, and the charts have their own tab, you can easily spot Pokemon Go there....

And to be honest, Pokemon Go better be featured later when all the bugs are sorted out and some new features are implemented.

It is a mistake to feature an App too early. It's better for Pokemon Go to mature a bit in my opinion.

The App store is notorious for featuring Apps from Microsoft and Google. You want people to download quality Apps that make them come back to the App store regardless of who makes those apps.
