Forums - Nintendo - Pachter Says Pokemon GO's Success Will Fade In 4 Months Due To Laziness

OK. I know I should just ignore him, but I can't. How come he gets paid to make comments like this.

Coming from analyst Michael Pachter

“The game requires couch potatoes to get off the couch, and the novelty will wear off when they get tired or when their phone batteries die. I give this four months at the top of the charts, then it will fade.”

I mean, if the game dosent get new updates in a few weeks time, then sure it has the chance to fade. But not because of your reason, dear Mr. Patcher.

Oh and danieldp, you seem like you still dont know how to decode Patcher messages. If what he speaks is about Nintendo, then the oposite will always comes true.So you actually should be celebrating, because this means that Pokemon GO will be successful XD

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Who is this Pachter guy? This is the third thread I've read about some insane prediction of his.

Pokemon go only going to last 4 weeks or 4 years is the question now

Without continues updates and events it won't survive for 4 weeks.

so there are 2 possibilities. The gam will fade out much sooner (like ina few weeks) or the game will last etremly long.

Yep, Michael Pachter probably enjoys flame-baiting on forums in his free time.

bet: lost

Yeah, yeah, "lol opposite of whatever Pachter says will happen!" Okay, there, that's out of the way, no need for twenty more people parroting the same thing.

And, he might be right. Only time will tell. Many games have blasted to the top of the charts and then faded away quietly. That's why some formerly successful mobile developers are worth a fraction of their former value. I don't know anything about GO myself but I do know that games which require a lot of effort usually sputter once the "fun" viral stage becomes "eh, that's too much effort."

Really? You don't know who Pachter is.

Michael Pachter is a video game, social media, digital media and electronics analyst with Wedbush Securities

Yea that is my issue as well. Its not getting to the top that is the issue with mobile games... Its fucking F2P, anyone can download it and its Pokemon so people will download it... Its staying there that most seem unable to do
