Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Only Gets About 10% Of Money Spent on Pokemon GO

It's unlikely Niantic gets a percentage of the revenue, let alone 3X more than Nintendo. Contracted devs are usually paid a flat rate rather than a third of the total revenue.

Apple and Google get 30% based on their commissions policies. This does NOT mean that Nintendo also pays out 30% of total revenue to devs, and 30% of total revenue to the co-owner of the license. It is silly to believe that a publisher would give away more than half of their gross revenue, let alone 90%.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

"Analyst". It must be true then, right?

This is what I too thought. Anyone with better knowledge of the matter able to confirm how it's going? Without better knowledge, it's probably safe to assume Niantic isn't getting a percentage.

Not bad. It will help to disguise the bad Wii U numbers in the next briefing.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

LOL..  What a joke. This is extremely shoddy journalism.  No mention that Nintendo own the IP 100% and definetely would receive the lions share aside from maybe apple.

Still good money.

Annoying how the apple store gets 30 percent. Not like they do anything special by putting the game in the store.

They still own the store. Look at if you sell something in a private auction, or sites like Ebay and Amazon. It still ends up being roughly 20-25%. They could always come up with their own stuff to put the game on. Don't forget, none of us would have any smart phones without Apple.

I know. A lot of people proved me wrong 😂😂😂

I thought apple was the only one who did 30 percent. I could care less though. Money is money

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

i still don't get how this game is making money? people to lazy to walk around getting free pokeballs?

I'd say that's pretty justified considering it's through Apple devices.

Hm, for some reason I thought they owned 51% of PokeCo.

They own a third and GF owns a third, with TPC owning the last third itself. But Nintendo also owns at least a third of GF (with TPC owning another third if my memory serves), so they're making far more than just 10% here since they're essentially the puppet master whenever they want to be.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Wowzers Nintendo only owns 1/3 of Pokemon? Someone(Sony? MS? Tencent?) buy Da Pokemon Company asap!!
