Select Best Buys will do their best to get more girls gaming as they host the Wii for Women event this Sunday.

From 1to 4 pm, women will be able to play a variety of Wii games, as well as win swag like a Garmin GPS unit, spa gift cards and of course a Wii console.

Will men be shooed away as unwanted guests? Will girls be encouraged to take part, or is this just for adults? Will any non-gamers be converted? (I'm going to guess no, yes and yes.) I'm terribly curious to see how such an event would unfold, but unfortunately, none of the locations are near me.

If any of you have the chance to swing by one of the participating Best Buys this weekend, let us know how it went, ok?

I think that sounds like a great plan. From my experiance, the main reason most girls don't join in on playing VGs at a party or where ever... is we men tend to hog them a bit : )

Funny because you don't really have "Gaming for Men" events....unless it's for gays or something...seems kinda sexist...

But I guess more women playing games is not a bad thing.

I wonder if more men/pervs will show up than women LOL.
