Agree 100% soundwave. Mobile is indeed where the Wii and DS crowd went. Nintendo would be wise to follow and I've always said that.

I don't expect Nintendo to switch focus to smartphones but i definitely think we will be seeing alot more Nintendo games hit smartphones now that Ninty has seen them dollars

Well if NX flops it looks like Nintendo will have a backup plan in Smartphones

And a healthy future on them too.
But I wonder will they continue to make AAA comsole games and release on ps4/X1/pc? Or just go full mobile
The trick will be if Nintendo can use their mobile games to drive business back to their dedicated hardware. If Pokemon Go winds up canabilizing their dedicated handheld sales, it may not be a great thing. If Pokemon Go encourages more people to buy a 3DS for Sun and Moon, that would be a huge win.

Their mobiles games will be huge because their franchises are huge, and those franchise are huge because their console games make them huge, without the main games the brands would lose strength, the mobile games will lose appeal and it would be dumb as hell not to take profit of the huge publicity this free apps gives to their main games.
There is no doubt Nintendo will continue making games as usual and mobile games will probably be made by third parties using Nintendo franchises just like Pokemon Go did, most of their studios and developers are not gonna completely change their way of work unless is completely necessary and I may remember you that just because handhelds were 5 times more succesfull than homeconsoles for Nintendo, that never made them go 100% handheld, and that didn't stop every homeconsole for having a big number of first party games even when the console was a big bomb.
It's kind of odd because I feel like Pokemon has managed to become a fad again. Obviously Pokemon has a huge fan base, but back in the late 90s litterally everyone was playing Pokemon. Pokemon Go has managed to recapture that, but I don't think the success of Pokemon Go is sustainable. Like all fads, this one will eventually die.
This is anecdotal, but I know many of my friends who haven't played Nintendo games in well over ten years are all obsessed with Pokémon Go. The success of this game cannot be overstated. I do think Nintendo needs to take a good hard look at their business model after the success of Pokémon Go.

There's a fine line Nintendo will have to play between giving users enough so that they can have a taste of what their franchises are about while giving them their money's worth without giving them so much that they can settle for what they can get on mobile and feel like they've gotten a full experience compared to what they can get on Nintendo hardware.

Yeah though I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how vested you are in dedicated Nintendo hardware.
Likely shareholders will want more mobile focus if Pokmeon GO continues to be a monster success.
