To be fair though, it's still pretty popular. At least it didn't end  up like  other popular franchises( cough cough yugioh and digimon cough)

 

Yugioh is still very popular and successful, unfortunately.

I don't see much of it in America.

 

I know it's still super popular in Japan. If I recall, the five most popular animes were Pokemon, Yokai watch, Yugioh, Naruto, and something else.

nah, there was some genuine Nintendo fans too. They may want it to flop so that GameFreak don't start focusing on mobile games at the expense of the real Pokemon games on consoles like oh so many other Japanese devs have...

No reason they'd have to though. Other companies probably lost sales in retail games, so they moved to mobile.

 

Pokemon games are still thriving, and it doesn't look like that'll change for a while.

You probably saw 2 or 3 nintendo fans hoping it flops and you made it bigger in your head, I haven't see any of that , quite the opposite, I have seen more hype than anything else.
