Forums - General - Why Don't You Participate In Mega Threads?

I usually only participate in mega threads if I have an urgent question for the community or if there's huge, breaking news.

Otherwise, I stay away because it's hard to keep up with the news cycle.

Around the Network

There's already a tight knit community which I frankly don't want to go through the hasle to become a part of.

I'd rather just post in a thread about a particular subject which I'm interested in most of the time.

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

I don't have the time (or being honest, the attention span) to keep up with them most of the time, so whenever I do contribute I always feel like I'm intruding because I'm not already part of the group of regulars who frequent them.

Because i don't feel like going mega. I'm not ready yet.

Hunting Season is done...

I like that the mega threads exist, but there's just so much content in them that I do not have the time to read it all or even keep up with it, let alone feel confident that I have something to add that hasn't already been discussed to death. In smaller threads I can get into a back-and-forth conversation with a one or two people, but in a mega thread I might wind up in several unrelated discussions---I just don't care enough to get anything out of that, and it could be a royal pain sifting through dozens/hundreds of posts to find everyone who might have replied to anything I've said.

I'm not sure these things can even be fixed--it just might be part of what makes a mega thread a mega thread.

The only mega thread I post in and follow is the vita one because great nexus for information on platform I love without being overwhelming.

I rarely feel like have anything to add to other mega threads and tend to prefer specific threads on a game or topic as it is more accessible.

I might actually have to jump into the Vita one of these for 2 reasons, 1 I can't imagine it has a massive amount of daily hits and views to keep up on and 2 I love the shit out of that little system so I wouldn't mind seeing a hub of positivity towards it for a stern change from the norm on here of Legacy console rubbish and indie game stuff that's said about it.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

It is a very positive thread and honestly I learn about game localizations and announcements from there as much as I do from news sources such as Gematsu.

I don't like them because I feel like I can't make any useful contributions to the discussion, and don't know enough about the topics being discussed. In fact, these days I usually know just enough to make one sentence posts in regular threads, not more than that.

I do like the football thread though but that's not that active throughout the year, and I only watch the major tournaments.

They move very fast and I don't want to go through pages and pages of comments to find the few that might be worth reading.

Secondly, I pretty much visit on mobile. This site it shite on mobile and having to go through Mega threads just to find keep up to date on the thread and finding worth while comments is a huge task.
