Which brits are these? we probably have over 100 distinct accents in our country. The town my parents live in, Tamworth, even has it's own distinct accent when it's a town of only 90,000 people. Bullshit, "soccer," like "rugger," is an English word, not an American one.  It is derived from association football (the "soc" in association), more commonly known as football.  Basically, soccer and football are both English words.  I prefer football myself, but those are the facts.

yeah it was annoying when i was visiting washington state or vegas and had to use the tactics I last used when i was 18 to get what I normally can without hassles
