It's a problem and a modern one. Back in the 80's, we didn't have free games each month and good games were very expensive. There were also less great games to play. Imo, it was better because you only got a few games a year and when you got them, you thoroughly played them. You explored every secret, every nook and cranny etc. You bought guides, or magazines to get codes and stuff. You spent a few months mastering it... it was just better.
Now, if I buy a game, there's something free popping up or coming out right away. There's always something taking my mind off of what I just bought and it makes me feel like I need to rush through the game and beat it so I can move on.
It's one of the reasons I'm only buying an NX next generation. I will have less games to play, but I will be able to enjoy said games more. Quality over quantity etc.
