Forums - Gaming - Buying too many new games?

You know I could use my vacation days to play through my backlog...

...but I only have two weeks.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I buy to many games definitely and then let them sit on my shelf for ages as I already have bought to many games before that and still playing them, I probably have enough games to last me a couple of years without buying anymore hah.

I have changed my buying habits somewhat lately and still buy a lot more games than I can play but now I usually wait for sites to have them on sale for around £15 as I know at that price they will never get cheaper so they may as well be on my shelf.

Like you say in your video you can really spend a fortune sometimes just to letting games sit on the shelf for 6 months instead I could of waited and bought it for £20 instead of £40.

I haven't bought a new game in over 6 months. Games coming out just don't look interesting to me.

What do you play now if i may ask?

Multiplayer games - Mainly Halo 5 online and Mario Kart sometimes.

Too* many, even on the youtube video you have it wrong.

Tagging this for a watch later but it could be worth changing the title mate, you have the wrong use of To,Too,Two.

Ja thx for the notice, i'am not a English speaking by nature so i alway appreciate if someone fixes a mistake i made, will be fixed.

Yeah I clicked on the profile of you and seen that it was from Netherlands mate, you know if you verify your youtube account it also allows you to upload a custom thumbnail for the video because I notice you have it on that also :)

And yeah I'm not trying to be a dick to you, it's just that I know on here most people are nice about it but I'm trying to get a few views on youtube atm myself (literally a few lol) and yeah I know that the community there can be very hostile towards mistakes so I hope your stuff goes well on there. If you want a hand finding that custom thumbnail upload thing give a shout and I can take a screen shot because I use it for my Street Fighter IV games.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

It's a problem and a modern one. Back in the 80's, we didn't have free games each month and good games were very expensive. There were also less great games to play. Imo, it was better because you only got a few games a year and when you got them, you thoroughly played them. You explored every secret, every nook and cranny etc. You bought guides, or magazines to get codes and stuff. You spent a few months mastering it... it was just better.

Now, if I buy a game, there's something free popping up or coming out right away. There's always something taking my mind off of what I just bought and it makes me feel like I need to rush through the game and beat it so I can move on.

It's one of the reasons I'm only buying an NX next generation. I will have less games to play, but I will be able to enjoy said games more. Quality over quantity etc.

I have the same issue too...but not complaining ;p

I'm sure I still paid less than most people.

This is all I had bought/gotten during 2016 so far.

Wow Basil, you will never run out of games to play!

Here I am with 5 games or so in my "currently playing" and I can't pick which to  boot up

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

My problem is that there are too many games releasing, and not enough time for me to play them all... my budget is fine, I can afford to buy them all, but I simply don't have the time that I used to, and now it takes me like a month, sometimes even longer, to finish a game, and in that time I've bought another 4-5 games, so my backlog is getting too big for me to handle... I even had a crazy idea once where I was going to book a whole MONTH off work and use the time to do nothing but play games from my backlog, just so I could get caught up... but then I realised it was a silly idea, so didn't do it, lol.

Totally agree, can't seem to remember the ps3 got this same issue ahahha.

Just a game of being more patient when buying new releases so you can still buy what you wany but not spending the full price.

Another problem seems to be that my favourite kind of games are JRPGs and as you know, they're usually quite long, especially if you want to do the side content too... I actually chose to NOT buy Disgaea 5 when it released, because I had over 300 hours on Disgaea 3 and around 350 hours on Disgaea 4... I just don't have that much time any more, so I felt like if I bought it, I wouldn't b e able to enjoy it properly like I did with the other games!

Wow that is a lot of hours for one game, played and beat all the Disgaea games but i cant seem to put a huge amount of hours into it.
