Playing MMOs with your real life friends. Used to do it all the time back in middle and high school and it was great because you had that interaction in and outside the game. Most of my friends don't play games anymore outside of things like FIFA.

The jump from 2D to 3D, it was like the world just erupted for gamers and the sight of Mario 64 for the first time back in 93/94 on Gamesmaster's TV show was something else.

This very much. I don't think we'll ever get such a transition on the scale of transitioning from 2d to 3d.

They were always mediocre and bad.

Well your the minority that thinks so.

No, I'm the silent majority. Not a single DBZ game has a metacritic of higher than 80.

That's pretty bad, considering how many there were.

Playing the original Everquest again. The game still runs but it's very different today. The unknown, the danger, no wikis, dial up, and most of all getting to know that amazing high elf wizard, who now is my wife for 12 years already.
We occasionally think about starting again yet with kids mmorpgs are just too time consuming. Perhaps it will still be running in 15 years, dunno if we'll have any energy left by then :)

What a great thing that a in game marriage can get you on a real marriage for 12y =]

Me and 3 other friends trying to play Goldeneye with low volume at night to not wake my parents up, even going as far as sneaking into the kitchen to steal some snack.

Failing miserably when cursing at loud when a friend HS you.

I like how you're using Metacritic as your source lol.

I miss gathering around an issue of Nintendo Power on the school playground.

I mean, I still have tons of issues of Nintendo Power but the restraining order says I can't go on the playground, anymore.

Buying a magazine for the demo disc.

Did any of the child complained about it or just the histerical adults?
