I don't believe this for one second.
Why is this thread even up? These sites are pure bull. Just like Kpopstarz.com or w/e, these sites make up crap all the time.

Yeah, can see a lot of people doing similar things just as a negative reaction to the choice by SquareEnix to effectively bury the reboot of Tomb Raider, which was sad because it had been years of bad Tomb Raider games and I've heard good things about the first title in this Reboot... My PS3 copy is still wrapped in plastic... one day I'll open it and play it, I promise this to myself >.> |
I got it free on PS3 from PS+. Maybe you got it and don't remember? If so, you don't even have to open it!
I bet you'll love it when/if you play it.
I would be surprised, surely the effort and cost of porting it would be made up by sales given how well the series has done on PS systems. Even if the main team has shifted focus completely to the next one or something else, there are companies they could farm it out to.
Don't ruin the moment

There will always be publishers/developers that go to MS if they can get funding or lower financial risks. Even the OG Xbox had exclusives with a tiny fraction of the PS2 userbase. |
And that can damage a brand. ROTTR after the successful 2013 version would of released to mega hype if the pc and ps4 versions were delayed. The brand is definitely damaged for sure and we seen this happen countless times last gen with many taking pay days to put their Japanese games on 360 either exclusively or timed exclusive. Will they ever learn? Don't bet against Playstation. You just can't win.
Most of the cost to make the game were already taken, now it's just a question of porting and optimize. Even if the game sold poorly on X1 and PC the porting would still be worth, and not doing it would only make the loss on the title bigger. So I call this BS.

lol. Those articles are speculating based on 8 month old quotes.
I'm surprised some posters here are actually taking this seriously :/
That doesn't even make sense. Thats like saying you're too hungry to eat.
Nope. They had a 1 year exclusivity contract wich probably includes communication expenses. This means square can not advertise the game on ps4 until the contract expires.
A ps4 version would never get canceled due to x1 low sales aswell. Its a much bigger userbase and the game reviewed well.
TR is also the most popular in europe, wich is sony land. Pre-orders still up on stores. Chances this was cancelled are zero. Worst case scenario is a delay cause fall will be packed and they can't advertise it yet.
I'll get it used some months after release if i don't have anything else to play, the first reboot was really good but nothing amazing plus you can't expect me to pay 60$ for a year old game.
I do like the fact that they removed multiplayer and used the time to improve the single player experience, if there's a franchise that absolutely didn't need MP it was Tomb god damn Raider.
