Forums - Nintendo - What kinds of games do you want from Nintendo?

CaptainExplosion said:

In 2015 we got Splatoon, Nintendo's own online multiplayer shooter, and it was a big hit.

Come next March we're getting The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild, a fully open-world Zelda, AND the biggest in-game world for the franchise yet.

Those were games that people didn't think Nintendo would try their hands in.

So what are some other genres you want Nintendo to make games in?

Unless Luigi's Mansion counts, they need to try their own survival horror IP, one that's actually scary, instead of nothing but jumpscares (FNAF) or a hackneyed action game (like Resident Evil 5 and 6).

And since a lot of people have been clamoring for it, why not a console-based Pokemon MMO (unless Pokemon Go turns out to be like that)? It'd prove that Nintendo is serious about gaming again.

A FPS based on The Kingsmen (movie), a follow up to the GoldenEye 64 days

I hate to say this but maybe just maybe I would like to see them go third party. Just devolop and publish there games on home consoles without worrying about software draughts etc. Do nintendo really need a home console of there own to produce great games?

I can tell you want I don't want instead.

No more Marios.

I want Nintendo to stop making their console primarily for their franchise in mind. It needs tech that can support third party games too.

deskpro, I assume you'll continue to invest in the PlayStation ecosystem, correct?

So why would you need two systems that play the same third-party games?

He's also got a rig as well which makes me question this even further, unless he's going to entirely invest in all the third parties on future Nintendo systems then I don't see the point as to why Nintendo should be pandering more to third parties who happen to release the same games on multiple systems.

OT: I'd love to see:

New Advance Wars on either 3DS or Wii U/NX

New home console Animal Crossing

New Wario

Fancy a new Zelda 2D game

New F-Zero

HOme console Metroid

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Fun games.

Not really. Nintendo would do wonders as third-party, using the raw power of other consoles.

I'd actually like to see an Advance Wars spin-off using a refined version of Codename S.T.E.A.M.'s gameplay formula.  I'd ask for an actual Advance Wars game but part of me feels like Nintendo is forbidding IS from making one because of the possibility that it could eat up Fire Emblem sales (since they both have similar gameplay forumulas), especially since the series has finally taken off in the west.

You didn't answer my question Veknoid. Do you like where Nintendo is at right now? Let me rephrase it. Are you comfortable with Nintendo not being competitive, and at the buttom? Are you happy with just more different Marios, and Zeldas?

What I should've said was "it isn't just about me" But you know, overall I really thought what I said was self explanatory, so let me hit you with a breakdown explaination, and to end this by answering your question.

Each console have their exclusives, and exclusives is the bread and butter of a console, but that alone is not enough. I think Nintendo next console needs to beef up its specs so it can have more options. If somebody only likes only Nintendo exclusives out of the others, at least they can still play third party games on their console of choice. Secondly, better specs potentially brings forth the development of better games with more detail and content.

So you're being altruistic? You're interested in the well-being of Nintendo and its customers?

You want Nintendo to support more third-party content, recruit more customers, and make more profits? As someone who prefers PlayStation, I'd assume you'd want Nintendo to draw in fewer customers and fewer exclusives, so as not to rival Sony. Do you see why I'm confused?

I look forward to your response.

You still didn't answer my question.

I was looking forward for your answer, but since it's taking so long, I'll assume you're happy with lesser specs.

I'm not altruistic, I'm a divine hybrid master race.

I said I want a powerful Nintendo console, I never said I will invest in third party games on that specific console. I think, well I thought everyone would agree that a more powerful console can support third party games, which would be good for Nintendo fans, and game developers and publishers.

I personally want better looking Nintendo exclusive games, thus why I want it to have better specs. EX: Xenoblade in a beefier console could've looked so much better.

H&S Like Bayonetta 2
FPS like Goldeneye
Survival Horror like RE or The last of us
More Big RPG like the witcher, xenoblade, dark souls
3D platform single Player like Mario 64/Sunshine/Galaxy, Banjo, etc

Kingdom Hearts with Nintendo Characters by Platinum Games

I want Paper Mario and Mario Party to be good again, is that too much to ask?
