Forums - Nintendo - Aonuma on voice acting in new Zelda

In short, he said there will still be text but in certain parts of the story there will be voice acting to have a strong impact on the gamers.

Personally I think that its fantastic. I hear people crying about it but they'll just have to deal with it. I really don't know why Nintendo fans hate change so much.

Its not hating change, is hating unecessary change, changing things that have been so fundamental to the series, like Link always being a boy not a girl.

In this case though, I will agree with you.It seems the voice acting is just adding to the overall experience, and its not either overwhelming or bad(so far).I very much like this aproach to it, trying it a bit to see if it works, and maybe in the future adding more of voice acting.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I hope Nintendo delivers. I'm not worried about the Japanese dub, it's the English dub that's going to either be panned or praised.

That's fantastic, as long as Link remains silent and the acting is good on those voices (wich is easier to do when you dont have to give a voice to every single npc) I'm on it.

Well, I already hated all the voice acting I heard so far, so more of it will surely have an impact on my experience.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Its not about hating change for me... Its about how change turns the experience into a negative experience. If Zelda had excellent quality Voice Acting, than great! I will be all up for it but as it stands, imo, Zelda's VA in cringe worthy and immersion breaking. And that is why I am 110% not a fan of it. And that is what I feared from the start...

If the next Zelda has great voice acting, than I will be fully behind it but until then, I hope to god that it has a mute button.

And the minimal BGM isn't helping either. Oh well... I will "deal with it" by not paying for it

I don't get the complains about the voice we heard,  it sounded completley fine for me, is people hating it for the british accent or something? I really dont get it.

I dont even mind if its just like Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates. Where they say a few words or a sound (which does get repeated throughout the game) everytime they say something through the text boxes

Pocky Lover Boy!

"Link... You are the light... our light... that must shine upon Hyrule once again."

I kind of figured that was the approach they would take. I'm cool with it!
And I thought the voice for Zelda was just fine (yeah, calling it now, that female voice was Zelda herself.)
I think Link will always be silent though.
