I've got my RAM and power supply arriving this week. I think I'll take the plunge on the RX 470 coming out at the end of June. It looks like one has a 4GB option and the other an 8GB option. Obviously the 8GB would be more but is it necessary?

4GB will suffice.

The 470 seems a good card on a budget.

As for the memory, 4GB should be enough by now, but there are games out there that already use more than that. And if you plan to try mods (for games like Skyrim, for example), the extra memory from the 8GB cards will come in handy.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I would also like some help also these are my specs
Windows 10
Intel Core i3-500SU (2.0 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache)
Intel HD Graphics 5500 up to 2133 MB Dynamic video memory
4GB DDR3 L memory
500GB Harddrive

Isn't DDR3 L the kind of memory that's used in laptops?

You have a Dual Core Sandy Bridge CPU.... its okay but not really upto standards for gameing.

I guess a cheap 100$ graphics card would be the best upgrade for it, but your unlikely to get that CPU running games better than your PS4 or XB1.

You mean a Core i3-5005U right?

Thats a 14nm pretty new CPU, but its only a 15watt TPD version (so its not that powerfull, very energy effecient though).

Your also useing a Dual core.

Also if your on a laptop the chances of upgradeing are pretty slim, if at all possible.

Basically if you wanna game on your pc, build a stationary PC, dont buy a laptop.

oh ok

get 4 more GB of RAM and the RX480 from AMD that is releasing on June 29th, find out what socket your Motherboard has and see if you can pick up a dirt cheap used i5 or i7 for it and a new 212 EVO cooler to go with it.
