Umm maybe the people who are actually playing PSVR and have not complained about it being jaggy etc would be enough for you? You people are being ridiculous.

Sorry if I don't have the best vote of confidence for people who's experience is limited to isolated demos of a game.  This is the games industry for crying out loud.  Since when did skepticism become "ridiculous."

You're just basing your skepticism off literal bullshit. Just because some unknown person said it was going to run horrible, you're going to ignore literally hundreds of people who have had hands on with it saying there was no problem with the frame rate. Yeah, obviously you're not being ridiculous.

What? What in the world are you talking about? Isolated demos? They're running on base PS4 hardware, if it's running great on one part of the demo, why would the frame rate be bad for the rest? lol????

Literally the only complain I've seen for PS VR is the graphics, people say it looks like a PS3 game and of course that's because they had to make sacrifices for the frame rate, but sure, keep saying whatever you're saying.

Now, most of you probably remember when the rumours about an upgraded PS4 started circulating, and Phil Spencer took the word quite fast that he did not support mid-gen upgrades because it splits the focus of the developers/consumers...

Then MS had their E3, good ol Phil came out on stage and announced the Xbox Scorpio, and he couldnt be more excited....

This just seems so hypocritical to me, first he downplays the rumors of a mid-gen upgraded PS4, then he proceeds to do the same thing with the Xbox. My respect for him was severly injured when he did this, thoughts?

The Xbox Scorpio seems to be more of an 8th gen console. The PS4Neo while considerable more powerful than the PS4 is considerably less powerful than the scorpio, and certainly isn't capable of 4k gaming.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

This thread is about Microsofts Phil Spencer......

That doesn't matter.

If you're going to try and make it sound like this is something that only happens with Microsoft or Phil Spencer in general, then it needs to be mentioned that it happens with Sony and Nintendo as well.

Make it sound like only Microsoft do it?  Lol were talking about Spencer here.  I merely stayed on topic

We're all hypocrites tbh.

How exactly did he lie? He never said he is against a 4-5x stronger mid-gen upgrade. He only said he wants a big jump and it clearly is one. He probaly meant he doesn't want a 2x jump or something like that because that would be not good in his opinion.

Spencer does say some weird stuff sometimes but this is absolutely not one of them.

He said "I’m not a big fan of Xbox One and a half. If we’re going to move forward, I want to move forward in big numbers."

Scorpio is Xbox One and a half. It's not as big of a leap as a completely new next gen console. It doesn't offer any new software, etc.

It's PR though. They all lie. It's their job. Nintendo for example claimed that Majora's Mask 3D wasn't in development, months before it was released. ND said they had no plans to release The Last of Us on PS4, etc.

man if this is XBox one.5 I can't wait for next gen and Sony is in major trouble hardwarewise and OS wise... If they attract devs through win10 platform it's almost check mate guarantied...

nah I don't believe this is XBO.5 its their next gen... Lets keep things competitive and exciting...PS5 for 2018 and let the clan wars begin... If you get an XB 2 in 2020 or 2021 imagine the gap there'll be all the time with the competition??

He started the rumors, so no...

Is not Hypocrite, just after he said that, he realise how behind he left if Sony has so powerfull system again, it was also those xbone sales numbers, so he decide to make a xbox2.
If you remember correctly when Sony ps4k start to make the first step on internet world, developers are not so unhappy about that and they don't want to develop on different systems.
But suddenly they stop moaning because MS show up to them and say we make the same, I don't see any of them cry because is some sort is weird to them how to develop on 6TFLOP, 12GB mermory and the same time on a weaker system.
Even the announce both xbox, the slim and the scorpio the same time, not make sense, that means MS has no choice to run fast ahead this time, and announce first the xbox2 like Sony did with ps4

He said he's not a big fan on small upgrades I believe (or something along those lines) Scorpio isn't a small upgrade though now is it?

Not really.  You're putting A LOT of words in my mouth here  1.)  I didn't base my thoughts on 'some unknown person' to arrive at my skepticism.  2.)  I NEVER EVEN SUGGESTED anything about them 'running horribly' on base PS4 hardware; only stated my hesitancy in buying into how rosey it'll be running on anything but Neo.  3.)  Ignore them?  I just considered this wrinkle to your argument in my last response.

Funny thing about demos: they tend to show the best parts of games.

Again, I'm not sure why--at the very least--questioning the current PS4 hardware w/ PS VR is such a big deal.  A lot of those VR-ready PC's I've seen drum on about a consistent 90 FPS, and the bar's already lowered to make Sony's certification: http://www.polygon.com/2016/3/17/11256142/sony-framerate-60fps-vr-certification.   And I can deal with condescending remarks all day, but for fuck's sake at least approach my responses with some intellectual honesty.  False claims about what I never said--nor even implied--is a bullshit way to argue.

Lol...wow....amazing. This is a perfect example of a person joining a conversation he has no clue about.

This is what the person I replied to said, in which you replied to what I said.

"I feel the major reason why Neo and scorpio are in development is for VR."

Do you even know what Shawn Layden said at the conference? I sure as hell bet you don't. He said that the PS4 had the graphical and computing power to play VR on PS4. Want to know why he said that? Because just a month or so ago, Edge Mag or someone said that an unknown source said that PS4 couldn't handle VR and that is why they are making the NEO. And eventually, quite a few big sites picked up on this and started posting that the PS4 couldn't handle VR. I was having a conversation about that topic with someone when you just joined in which you have no clue.

"Funny thing about demos: they tend to show the best parts of games."

Lol? How would it be any different if they weren't VR games? You can literally say that for ANY game. Lol.......you are being completely ridiculous.

"Again, I'm not sure why--at the very least--questioning the current PS4 hardware w/ PS VR is such a big deal. False claims about what I never said--nor even implied--is a bullshit way to argue."

Wow, this is definitely the most ridiculous thing you've said. Do you even know anything about PSVR? Because it sure seems like you don't. Do you even know why Sony has it at 60 fps for the base limit? I bet you don't, because if you did, you wouldn't be using it as your argument. PSVR games that run at 60fps use Sony's PSVR tech which projects the games at 120 fps using Reprojection. PSVR games either run natively at 90fps or they run at 120 fps using Reprojection.

You didn't base your thoughts on the unknown source? In which big sites picked up, in which you probably saw? Really? Then where is it coming from? Is it coming from the fact that you think PS VR games run at 60fps, which they actually don't? Wow, then it's seems it's just coming from lack of knowledge isn't it now.

What's also funny is that you just said I'm putting words in your mouth saying that PSVR runs horrible, yet the last thing you just said implies that. LOL....

And still.....STILL...you keep ignoring what people have said from their hands on time, which is that PS VR runs great, no frame rate issues because those games are either running at 90fps or 120 fps using Reprojection. You are just simply amazing.....AMAZING.
