He's a pr guy. He likes getting paid lots of money. There's no integrity in his job at ms. People need to stop believing him and praising him like he's some sort of hero.

For the money he gets I'd lie all the time too or pretend to be the good guy.

Like sony and ninty pr guys...

This thread is about Microsofts Phil Spencer......

He is a fat cunt with no morality but that is what you do at those high paid jobs man it is normal! he might be a good guy but we know him as this because he gets paid for being like this.

He lies, invents excuses etc etc... Xbox is doomed not because of him but Don so there you have it.

That doesn't matter.

If you're going to try and make it sound like this is something that only happens with Microsoft or Phil Spencer in general, then it needs to be mentioned that it happens with Sony and Nintendo as well.

The big three all do this....ALL OF THEM, this is not specific to MS or Spencer.

The good news is, we are all intelligent enough to make grown up decisions when it comes to how we spend our money. We have a great community here that (usually) discusses performance in hardware and software to help educate each other prior to making decisions.

These decisions are not based on what MS, Sony, or Nintendo states, but from my own research and opinion.

I want to upgrade to a slim to take advantage of my new 4k tv (but only if) the advantages are worth my investment. If not, I will be content with my Xbox One until I decide who gets my money moving forward.

Scorpio looks promising, but we do not have enough info yet.

we've been hearing that this slim version has more power and gears of war 4 will take advantage of it?

Yes it has more power but that power is so small its not worth mentioning as it will not play games any better than the original.  Instead the extra power is there for HDR support which will be worthless for anyone who does not have a 4K TV.

Now, most of you probably remember when the rumours about an upgraded PS4 started circulating, and Phil Spencer took the word quite fast that he did not support mid-gen upgrades because it splits the focus of the developers/consumers...

Then MS had their E3, good ol Phil came out on stage and announced the Xbox Scorpio, and he couldnt be more excited....

This just seems so hypocritical to me, first he downplays the rumors of a mid-gen upgraded PS4, then he proceeds to do the same thing with the Xbox. My respect for him was severly injured when he did this, thoughts?

Do you even own an Xbox?

“What I’m saying is that hardware innovations happen, we want to be able to embrace those in the console space and make those available and maybe not have to wait seven or eight years for that to happen,” Spencer explained. It took nearly a week to clear the air, as Microsoft was unwilling to clarify the statements when we spoke to them in follow-up last week.

That's what everyone got out of it. Because everyone wanted to know if they would do a mid console cycle refresh. He knows that's what the 1.5 label stood for. Not an argument of whether it's going to be 1.4 or 1.7. The question was mid cycle refresh, or next gen console, and everything that entails. He knows this, and he chose an answer that everyone interpreted as MS not liking the idea of doing a mid console refresh because of the specs.

Yet, here we are. And the Scorpio is a mid cycle refresh, but not because of it's specs, but because Phill said that all Scorpio titles will work on Xbox One. Meaning developers are not free to create real next gen games on it, but will be limited to creating games that can be scaled down to work properly on Xbox One.

If you're someone who don't think giving misleading answers on purpose to decieve someone else when they ask you a question isn't a lie, then that's fine. But this is why everyone else considers that a PR lie.

Hmmm, the problem appears that you assumed Phil was thinking the same way you are thinking about the question. Nowhere in that question did the interviewer ask Phil do you believe in another console during the midlife of another.  When asking questions you have to be very specific because you can never assume someone is thinking the same as you.  Phil answered the question given to him exactly as it was presented.  In a previous statement before that interview, Phil already stated he believed in a mid-cycle console that could be upgradable etc.

If there is any finger pointing to be had, then you should point it at the interviewer.  Evidently he did not ask the question you thought he should and thus was not satisfied with Phil answer.

Maybe its me but I have a real problem when people believe someone should answer a question the way they believe they should because they should know this or that.  If you want a question answered, the question has to be direct, to the point and very specific so there is no interpretation.  No one knows what the hell Phil is thinking but you can believe he isn’t thinking as a common consumer but the exec of a Multibillion dollar company where he does not want to divulge any information that tips his competition off to early.

Lol. The Xbox One (original) is still the target for all Xbox One development, with the One S and One Scorpio able to run said games at higher resolution with 60 fps.

Doesn't sound like a mid-gen upgrade - ala New 3DS or DSi - which segregates 'old' purchasers with 'new' ones. The games aren't changing.

Im still not sure why people keep saying this, they even said it on the conference and multiple developers have already said this, VR works fine on the regular PS4 so please stop saying that people. The PS4 Neo is being made because the consoles are underpowered compared to modern PCs, plain and simple. And too give consumers more choices.

Wait a sec...you mean to tell me PS VR developers trying to sell their wares said the standard PS4 'works fine?'  Consider me shocked.

Umm maybe the people who are actually playing PSVR and have not complained about it being jaggy etc would be enough for you? You people are being ridiculous.
