Not an argument of whether it's going to be 1.4 or 1.7. The question was mid cycle refresh, or next gen console, and everything that entails. He knows this, and he chose an answer that everyone interpreted as MS not liking the idea of doing a mid console refresh because of the specs. |
Hmmm, the problem appears that you assumed Phil was thinking the same way you are thinking about the question. Nowhere in that question did the interviewer ask Phil do you believe in another console during the midlife of another. When asking questions you have to be very specific because you can never assume someone is thinking the same as you. Phil answered the question given to him exactly as it was presented. In a previous statement before that interview, Phil already stated he believed in a mid-cycle console that could be upgradable etc.
If there is any finger pointing to be had, then you should point it at the interviewer. Evidently he did not ask the question you thought he should and thus was not satisfied with Phil answer.
Maybe its me but I have a real problem when people believe someone should answer a question the way they believe they should because they should know this or that. If you want a question answered, the question has to be direct, to the point and very specific so there is no interpretation. No one knows what the hell Phil is thinking but you can believe he isn’t thinking as a common consumer but the exec of a Multibillion dollar company where he does not want to divulge any information that tips his competition off to early.
