The game actually looked very survival and craft focused, there were crafting regeants all over the place. Also, there weren't any Rupees visible so far, so it might be that you're expected to find and craft your own gear more so than buying it this time around.

I pretty much liked everything I saw :)

There is rupees, and you will be able to buy stuff, its just that rupees is earned by selling stuff the things you find in the wild.

I don't see why not. It seems you can cook anything remotely edible like mushrooms and grasshopper. You can even eat enemies.
