We now have confirmation that both Sony and Microsoft come out and agree that the traditional console generation concept is absolute bullshit.

They're also agreeing that their current consoles are too week and they're finally both acknowledging that this new invention of "frame rate" does indeed exist.

Finally from now on consumer will have the choice to get the console they want and have all the backwards compatibility they want. This is a great day for all gamers and a big step forward for the industry.

I was excited to get the new XB1S with DR4, but the Scorpio is coming next year. Why would I not just wait for the Scorpio? Who is the XB1S for?

For people who can't wait or have no interest to buy scorpio which will be significantly more expensive?

We dont know if it will be much more expensive. They didnt give us the price for either consoles...

I was for this a while ago. Generations are played out and really are a pain. There's no reason for a PS20 down the line. Just make upgradable console formats like Apple but less frequent. A system where new games that take advantage of new hardware and it's your choice to upgrade or if developers no longer support the specific platform much like Android and Apple but to a greater extent. I knew that generations would end it was just a matter of when.

Its for people who will unknowingly buy it and it will perhaps replace Xbox one or just to make Scorpio look more attractive

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

Dude, that new thing is basically a new console. The price difference will be at least 100 bucks. More likely 150-200.

Because the games will work on both.

They said the XBO S is $299

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

My question is how exactly is this thing gonna work. Xbox One is like what? 1.3 TF vs Scorpio is 6TF? That is quite the difference almost to the point on me wondering how much game devs would have to hold back in order to make both compatible. And also, after Scorpio and whatever MS releases next, will the original x1 still be supported?

Also I am very skeptical of the whole... Scorpio is 4k ready...

Gonna be interesting for sure
