Forums - Microsoft - Existing XB1/360 Games Could Soon Work On Windows 10 (RUMOUR)

I've put 'rumour' in the headline because the word 'could' doesn't appear to register with some people:

Microsoft has always hinted at bringing the Windows 10 and Xbox One platforms closer together; the fact that you could buy Quantum Break on the Xbox One and get "free" access to the game on your Windows 10 PC day and date was another step in that direction. While the company's press conference won't begin until 12:30 ET, we're already seeing hints that Xbox One and Xbox 360 backwards compatibility is coming to Windows 10.

"Each game has a store page listing Windows 10 as a system requirement and list them as 'Currently unavailable' when I click the 'Install' button," the tipster wrote. "Some games specify different graphic card requirements. They appear in the Works on this device section on the Library page on the Windows Store." The games are currently showing up in their account with "all DLCs and everything" they bought on the Xbox Store.

This could just be a glitch, but Microsoft has stated that more cross-buy support is coming to the platform in the future.

We won't know for sure for a few hours, but it looks as if Microsoft may be bringing more big-name Xbox One games to Windows 10, and it's possible you'll get access to them for free due to your previous purchases on the Xbox One platform. You can watch the live stream with us to see this announced, or not, live.

The PS5 Exists.

I'd normally be thrilled to be able to play some 360 titles on my PC like Fable II but then I'm just reminded that anything will just be slapped to Windows 10 because the other two existing OS's they own simply do not exist.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

pretty much exactly my thoughts on this too, support for Win7/8 was the fastest dropped thing in history.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Hm. I'm sure there are some 360 games I'd like to play but I don't know if any are worth supporting UWP. I'd be surprised if they were well-made ports, considering the track record there.

This would be bloody fantastic.

What is so hard in understanding a different opinion on not wanting to use the OS?, why do we all have to give in and go for what someone else goes with?.

For the same reason you buy a new console, that new OS are released on phones making old ones obsolete and so on: New things are released and old things are left behind, and if you want everything that comes with the new, the easiest thing is to jump aboard. Windows 7 is still supported and will be for many years but it is better that MS focuses on making W10 the primary OS and put their efforts into it. That being said, the way they tried to push W10 unto user in China is just cheap, they should encourage users instead with W10 exclusive services.
