The level of whining gamers are capable of is pretty amazing.

I swear to god, there was a thread the other day complaining about developers showing off games too early, yet now all I read about is, "why didn't they show the Star Wars games!!!"

Well Mass effect was announced like 4 years ago, release february next year  and they show nothing, if this is what you want from E3 good for you, if others dont like it they have every right to complain or show how they feel.

If you expect to only hear praise from a gaming forum i dont know wtf to tell you.

There is very real difference between objective criticism and entitled complaining just for the sake of being negative.  Your OP is terrible.

lol i forgot about it so Mass Effect is the only new thing from them?

I dont think that was what people were complaining about. It was about companies announcing games too early.

Either way, they were going to complain and complain loudly.  That's the atmosphere with gaming and why E3 ends up being a drag every year.  Not because of the games but because of the unrelenting and often contradictory complaining.

A game is announced:  "WTF they announce games too early!  The hype ruins it!  The hype!"

A game is not announced:  "WTF I want blockbuster announcements, this conference blows, 2/10."

Early gameplay is shown:  "WTF the shadows are different!  THE SHADOWS ARE DIFFERENT!!"

Cinematic trailer is shown instead:  "WTF I want gameplay!!"

It's always the same.

And my personal favorite: "WTF they're showing a game that I'm not personally interested in!  How dare they not tailor this conference to me!"

Actually, I thought EA's "behind the scenes" approach, which its mix of elements, was meant to counter that, but it won't.

Well I knew there wouldnt be much for me in this conference. I havent bought an EA game since like Dead Space 3 or something. They just rarely appeal to me anymore. Mass Effect Andromeda is the only thing I want from them. I still think they could do better in their conferences though. Thery are just boring.

I suspect this is at least partially because of higher development costs and longer development times. It takes so much money to create games you can't have too many projects going on at once, and it takes so long to create them that there will be fewer new games each year (also, the early stages of production will take longer than they used to, meaning it will take longer to get to the point where you have something to show off). Those are probably not that big individually, but it all adds up.

I just watch EA's conference for the cringeworthy moments, but they didn't even deliver on that lol.
This is exactly why I prefer Nintendo's Digital Event, it's pretty straightforward.

Shouldn't need to be said, but some gamers complaining about EA doing one thing, and then other gamers complaining about EA not doing that thing, does not mean "Gamers" can't make up their mind. It just means you can't please everybody. In this case, I dunno who was pleased, other than shareholders.

I almost fell asleep too! The game dev diary is nice and all, but without any gameplay to go along with it, it's just hard to care really. Imagine if those dev diary with no gameplay were for new IPs instead of big franchises like Mass Effect and Star Wars!
