Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One Slim Image Revealed - 40% Smaller!

So, if $449 is true, then this thing is DOA. $349 is the max if they truly want this thing to help with sales. Also makes you cringe at the thought of how much they're going to try to get for Scorpio. Is that going to be $499, or maybe even $549? That'll be DOA, too. Especially if Sony launches PS4K for $399-$449.

Is UHD-BD even save? I only read about 4K videos so far, which could be streams as well.

Price and date look like they're either fake or just a placeholder. So i'd give absolutely nothing about that.

But the 2TB can't be the only model. If I were MS, I would also offer cheaper version as well.

Internal power brick too apparently.

That's just insane. Makes you think about why Sony can't slim theirs down other than cost of rumours are to be believed.

Well because even with the 40% smaller X1... it's still larger than the original model of the PS4, it would be like if a massively obese person was to lose a KG of weight then look at some anorexic and ask why they don't go on a diet with them.

Another reason that Sony might want to keep selling the PS4 in its current design and size is 2 fold,

1. It's currently selling like hotcakes, even with the rumours of a more powerful redesign floating around for the past 4 months now the sales of the system have been out of this world, considering the reasoning for these sales has even eluded Sony in places I think they would not actively want to start to change aspects of the console in case they would alter the selling point of it right now. and

2. Hardware redesigns can be costly and can end up with an inferior design of system, at times they can work out really well (the first slim ps3) and at others they can come off cheap or have additional noise either immediately or after some use (the ps3 super slim with its rattly sliding door) or other issues like failing hardware or incompatible with system software updates as happened with some of the X360 redesigns.

Either way there is a lot to be gained repackaging a console which hasn't set the world on fire, but far less so to alter a proven seller, at least while it still remains the most compact powerhouse on the market.

Assuming the 40% reduction is in volume (which is how they usually describe a size reduction),  the Xb1 slim is still larger than the Ps4, 0.0044m3 (PS4) to 0.0052m3 (Xb1 Slim). At least it's got an internal power supply now, so that's a big improvement.

no it's not, power supplies is the most likely element to fail on any device, it's also one of the most heat generating element, and the one you need to switch if it's not universal and you go in different countries...

there is nothing remotely good about that... Its like people have their console standing in the middle of the living room with no cable... I like my PSU as far away from the device as it can/should be...

that's like people liking audio/video device and furniture being white... When white is video (light) worst enemy... And then they talk about graphics...................................................................

Most Powersupplies are universal, they will work on 240c, 230v, 110v etc'... The only thing you need to worry about then is how it connects to the power source.
If a power supply is designed properly, it shouldn't add heat to the system, but actually help with airflow and thus asisst in the removal of heat. (Aka. This is what PC's tend to do.)
Besides a Powersupply at 200w~ or less isn't exactly big, bulky, hot and expensive and unreliable.

Will be quite expensive. 4K blu ray players are well over $300US(and they don't play games) and the 2 Terabyte hard drive will add expense too. Has this been confirmed yet>

According to an insider, there will be 3 different models (ie. disk sizes).

Verticality is easily the biggest improvement.

Until it gets opposable thumbs.

Hey look is the same with ps4..... its the same....actually is both white and both can stand vertical.: ) i don't know why people don't see is the same XBOX ONE!

But the point is it say 4k video that means upgrade the graphics card? also say HDR for HDR displays? that also needs some extra power

So is this fake? if is true that not going to cost normal slim price like 250 or 199? is a upgrade xbone ver. 1.0 and what about scorpio? it will be ver. 2.0? wtf

It is a rumor up until now. The picture used is quite suspect considering how easy it would be to produce(not a picture of the physical console sitting there on someone's desk etc). I'm skeptical on the 4K HDR playback as standalone 4k HDR blu ray players(which don't play games) are upwards of $300US.
