What caused PS3 to rise so much from last week in NA?

Blu-Ray 2.0

It's the HD player to get. As more people move to HD, more PS3's will sell.

Again, do ppl really think a firmware update can push up to 10,000 units for the week? I'm not doubting that the prevailing winds, I simply have a hard time believing that Blu-Ray 2.0, which is far more likely to appeal to tech folks who already own the system, can be even a marginal system seller.

Even the 360 had a price cut in the EU and it still is last, what happened if the ps3 got a price cut in the EU, would it rise high?

I think the 360 has been over saturated with FPS. The number of people waiting to get a 360 for Vegas 2 is probably small, since so many other (and probably better) FPS's out there. The PS3, though has a few good FPS (Resistance and COD4 come to mind) there are probably still a good deal waiting for the one particular FPS game to bring them in. Maybe they don't like modern warfare, or alien invasions, hence Vegas 2 would offer something a little different than that. On the 360 side, I'm sure you could find something for anyone. Basically, I see why the PS3 got a bigger boost.

And yes, the Wii still dominates. Please Nintendo, up production! 400k weeks all year would kill the competition.

DS only manages to outsell the PSP 1.7:1. Not the dominating 3:1 of the more normal weeks. All those PSP big game releases, without many big games on the DS (that I can think of), along with saturation in Japan are starting to get to the DS.

The Wii easily outsells 360 + PS3 by over 60k without any major releases or price cut.

That is pretty damn amazing.

There was supply this week for SSBB, I know because I actually saw a couple of Wiis at Target and Walmart for the 1st time in months.

I thought supply as the cause of increase too. Don't know how PS3 did what its done.

What exactly is the big deal with Blu-ray 2.0? I heard someone else talking about it, saying that only the PS3 supports it (or that other players have a harder time updating to it or something). Does it make the picture better or something? I don't see how a firmware update could push sales in any way whats-so-ever.

If the PS3 was around the same price as a Wii, what would be the competion?

WTH??! PS3 still beats the 360 in all regions? And holy crap at the Wii!! 397k/week in March???!!!!! Wow, just wow. Well, I guess this week is make up time for the meh last week.......

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

I still think the Wii would outsell it, but it would be a lot closer.
