Forums - Gaming - Supermassive going multiplat

Every time I hear Supermassive games, for some reason I remember this video and the somewhat odd looking developers in it.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Supermassive:"We are going multiplat!, but our next 2 games are still exclusives to playstation vr"

Don't know why but that's funny^^

>Good news. Bye UD2

Come on.

Guess that means no more Until Dawn games.
Wonder what type of game they can & will make when they arnt backed by sony.

Im guessing they ll probably be slightly smaller budget wise & more limited in design (risk taken drops, when your on your own).
I think they should have just made a Until Dawn 2 with sony instead.

like insomniac, they probably think they've reach enough acclaim to get out from under sony and because a big boy studio. like insomniac they'll probably learn that their fame doesn't immediately translate to other ecosystems, that they'll still need a big publisher like EA or activision, and that the multiplat publishers are going to be a lot more demanding as they solely focused on profit unlike a sony that is also looking for good PR and a well rounded library.

they can go multiplat if they want but these aren't a bungie,.. they're name isn't big enough to carry them.

I think this is a poor move to be honest. Until Dawn is an IP that could become huge for them but now they're going to be stretching themselves thinner in order to reach a broader audience.

The PS5 Exists.

Wasnt Insomniac the first?

Insomniac came crawling back though.

If Sony was willing to fund Sunset Overdrive without taking the IP, I bet that would have been a PS4 exclusive. I think most will agree that was a bad move on Sony's part.

Anywho, these 3rd party developers just go wherever the funding is.

Well shit. And I just got to finish Until Dawn. I found it very enjoyable and tight. I always hated QTEs but I thought this was done pretty well.
