Forums - General - Dad defends son(convicted rapist); "it was only 20 minutes of action"

Only 6 months, that had to feel almost as bad for the poor girl and her family.

Based on the statement she released, yes that does appear to be the case.

Sometimes I think people are too worried about virtue signaling to other people ("oh, look how righteous I am") that they throw empathy completely out of their window and end up reducing crimes and the commiters of those crimes to just that; criminals.

Forgive me for not empathising with the kind of scum who drags unconscious women behind dumpsters and rapes them.

Do we know that he dragged her there? Not sure if memory serves, but the people who stopped him and contradicted his story only did when he had already raped her, right? Did anyone report that he dragged her there unconscious.

I was speaking in general and referring mostly about the father's comment (since that's what the topic is really about), but thanks for proving my point of people worried about virtue signaling not considering context.

That dude who raped thar girl is not just a rapist, he's a son, he's someone's little boy in his father's memory, he's loved by his father (all presumably) and has someone that is worried about his future. God forbit his father takes his son's side. No, the son is just a rapist, that's all he ever was and all he will ever be. Throw him outer space, pls. Now give me a pat in the back for how righteous I am, pls.

Gee, my mistake, I forgot that raping unconscious women is just fine. It's how you get them to the location that matters.

The fact that you're actually defending a convicted rapist is a little disturbing. And yes, that is what you're doing.

the fact that you are deliberately misunderstanding others so that you can accuse them of things they never did is disturbing

This is ridiculous while Cory Batey gets minimum 15-25years in prison.

Personally, they should make a rule that anybody that gets caught raping automatically gets castrated. That'll definitely get the men to think twice about doing something so stupid.

That's a terrible idea, and here's why. False allegations (and convictions) happen. Imprisoning someone for something they didn't do is one thing, but the potential of imprisoning someone and then castrating them is absurd.

I think rapists should either serve a very long time or have the option to come free much sooner if they decide to have an irreversible physical castration and after going through extensive therapy and resocialization programms.

Extremely harsh penalties haven't proven to work as a deterrent and inflicting bodily harm (beyond restriction of movement) on prisoners without consent is not something I'd ever agree with though.

haha true.  But I definitely agree that they should be in jail much longer like Cory Batey.  6 months in prison for this is just a joke.
