No animal is worth a human life especially in this situation.

It never ceases to amaze me the superiority we feel we have over every other animal. Perhaps in the future we'll have a sign that says: "Do not go underneath the railing, through the wires, and across the moat, as it may not be safe". There becomes a certain point when people need to be responsible for their decisions.

The reality is, when it comes to life on this planet humans are the least important. As quoted by Jones salk a biologist scientist, "if all insects were to die tomorrow, within 50 years all life on the planet would be dead, if all humans were to die tomorrow, life on earth would flourish"

Humans are a disease to planet earth, were destroying everything important to earth everywhere we go and we're spreading across the planet fast. We will be the death of the planet and ourselves.

I love you Layton! Mother Selfie game is OP!

And yeah. This shit is taking over my FB feed! Sooo much sharing! With this one being my fave!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Didn't seem necessary to shoot the animal. The gorilla wasn't aggressive, or harming the child.

Anyway the parents, or the mother if she was the only one there, should be prosecuted for negligence. Keep your d*mn kid in line, now there's a dead animal because of it. A member of an endangered species no less.

No clue why she has to mention god? Does she believe god told the gorilla to do nothing or what exactly? If that would be the case then with all of her logic she didn't have to be scared nor would "the authorities" need to shoot the gorilla but I'm sure she was very happy about that when they did it.

Actually there are a lot of people agreeing that shooting the gorilla was the right choice. But it was obviously the mother's fault, which then caused the death of the gorilla. I don't see anything hypocritical about that.

Did you all see the video because I could clearly see that the gorilla was only helping.

While the Gorilla's intention was probably to help, you can see him dragging the kid around very heavily; without the Gorilla knowing, he could have broke an arm, legs or even worse the kid's neck.

All of a sudden everyone is a animal activist but i can assure you that everyone of these people would think/act diffrently if that would be their 4 year old child down there. What a hypocritical society.

Can you prove the bolded above? If so, how?

Might want to hold off on calling people hypocrites.

What would you do if, god forbid, that would be your kid?
I know that i would not take the chances.

So you're telling me the kid should of died or let the the animal do what it wants? We are the superior species and yes we decide the future of everything on the planet, that is how it is.A kid was in danger and a decision  sad but right one was made.

I've already vented about this elsewhere but it still infuriates me. While its true that none of us were there to witness the events, I have little doubt that this tragedy was due to this idiot's irresponsibility as a parent. In fact, eyewitness' have stated that this kid had already expressed - multiple times - an interest in trying to get in there. I don't see any excuse for her not intervening before it got to that point. I sincerely hope this "parent" is held criminally responsible for this to the absolute highest possible extent.

Some idiots have no business being parents.

i agree

I would have told my kid to relax and I would expect the zoo staff to get the tranquilizers ready.

Most of all though I would be keeping a close eye on my kid. This sort of thing would have never happened to my kid I guarantee you.
