Because our governments supposedly support democracy and wave our finger at every third-world country with human rights abuses. Unless the countries are rich and have a lot of oil of course (and are a "strategic partner").

Hey, didn't you hear? US invaded Egypt and Libya hence why the Muslim Brotherhood rose to power. It's all an inside job!

 Afganistan was approved under the UN, meaning the intervention had justification. Iraq I can agree on as it had no mandate, but once again that was only the US and UK that got involved.  And tell me if the  Arab spring or all these civil wars that resulted are because of the west too!

You know while you may hate Belgium because of its arms dealing, realize that you're country is also full of islamic extremists as well. Maybe you should stop worrying about the middle-east, and look at the problems your country faces. But ahhh... I'm just a bigot eh?

It had a UNSC mandate, that body doesn't give a damn about what the general UN assembly thinks. The US made the Afghanistan mess anyway when they armed the Taliban against the Soviet-backend government. The Arab spring is not a result of western intervention, I never claimed that. I claim the self-serving interventions by the NATO in the context of the Arab spring were disasters and you can't prove me wrong on that.

Yeah, it was. I'm just demonstrating that the US cannot be blamed for the rise of Islamism at its entirety. Other good examples are the stabbings/hackings in Bangladesh and the Sharia courts in Indonesia. Can't really blame the US for those things.

Don't be so dramatic, I'm not putting a gun to your head. Insulting you is also freedom of speech. Concerning islamic extremism, it's a problem in Belgium all right, but regarding severe job-market discriminations and persistant fascist rethoric in the North of Belgium, coupled with a failing integration and job-security policy, it's hardly surprising we have this problem. The islamic community in Belgium did much more for this country than it destroyed anyway.

Did we blame the US for those things? It's easy to accuse someone of overgenralization and then commit it yourself.

Well if it hadn't been the US who intervened in Afganistan, would it be better off today? I mean the soviet's invaded the country and planned to do god know what (it was before I was even born, so I don't know much about details). And since they collapsed just a few years later, do we really want to know what could've happened there? And what exactly do you mean by self-serving interventions by NATO? Look, it was their people that decided to start these civil wars and overthrow their leaders, not ours. Yes, the US supported it because these regimes weren't democracy's. It doesn't mean they started the crisis.
