Forums - Nintendo - So it seems we know another launch title for NX

Why can't Capcom go Multiplat on a MH ?

Around the Network

IF the NX is powerful. I want Resident Evil 7 to be an exclusive to utilize the consoles juice for the best possible experience.

Now that game deserves nothing less than perfection.

I actually expecting Monster Hunter launch title for NX.

Fiscal year is up to March so it could just be MH Stories although I expect NX or NX portable to get a MH game as Tri Ultimate was confirmed for 3DS before the platform launched.

So then it's not confirmed to be an NX title, but very possible that it is? I didn't read anything about a confirmation on the link. However, I did get the same thoughts that any of these 3 games, or all 3 of them could be launch titles for the NX. It falls in the same area of the console release and would help make a better line up.

I see it being possible.

It's not possible.

Capcom's projections are for shipments for the current fiscal year, not lifetime sales. This means that if there was an NX game among their three biggest sellers, they would expect 2m+ for a system's launch month and that's simply too high of an attach rate to be realistic. A multiplatform title that includes an NX version would make sense with such numbers, but in that case we would need explicit confirmation for the existence from Capcom.

So we know nothing regarding NX based on the information provided by Capcom.

The Monster Hunter game is the 3DS title that releases this summer.
The 4m seller refers to Resident Evil 7.
The 2m seller is unknown, but I guess it could be a new version of Street Fighter V releasing this fall and Capcom expects to right the wrongs. Or it's a new installment in the Devil May Cry series. Or a revival of Onimusha. Or yet another Monster Hunter title for the 3DS, yet to be announced. Or something else.

Well, I didn't say it had to be exclusive. It could be one of the multiplat consoles among PS4 and XBO or something. I just think the timing could be more than coincidental.

Also, they said they planned two million sales for this upcoming Monster Hunter Title

Previous games always sold more than 3-4 millions, so if it's not end up on a new console than I would be death from laughter

wow. nice twisting the facts that you posted. They planned two million sales in the current fiscal year. Previous games sold 3-4 million lifetime, right...?

I dont believe it works that way. Considering Uncharted4 on a machine that is already now dated (ps4), is one of the best looking games out there even when compared to the best looking pc graphic games.

RE is terrible now. MH is the only core series with any semblance of innovation left in it.

And when they list it as "Monster Hunter Title" that usually means they don't have a name for it yet, so there's very good reason to suspect its not a title we already know of.

In addition, Nintendo would be incredibly grateful if Capcom were to save a new MH for the NX launch. Perhaps were seeing yet another reason for the Christmas delay for the system.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

So I hope people don't have a meltdown if it does turn out to be a NX MH game. PS4 is getting a spinoff and the mainline games are going to stay on Nintendo systems at this point!

Monster hunter doesn't sell in the west and it especially doesn't sell well in home consoles.

So... no, it isn't any exclusive. Multiplat? Who knows? But i doubt it.
