Forums - Website Topics - Upcoming changes to VG Chartz

Great changes.

My only recomendation is that some sort of accountability needs to be added to the game rating system. As it stands now, it is pretty useless to even look at.

About the only thing I might humbly request is that the data-tracking means I've been doing based off of VG Chartz data (mainly separated views for week-by-week data sorted by handhelds and consoles; and years in review) could possibly be integrated as part of the site. While I do enjoy updating the Excel sheet I've made weekly, it'd be very cool if it were integrated into the site.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

Everything sounds exceptional to me.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

Great ideas all around.

I'd like to be a contributor and do opinion or editorial pieces. However, would this be possible if I was only occasionally able to write? The last 3 months of school are always extremely busy.

An idea I had was to do retro reviews for my fairly large game collection. Would it be possible for me to do this? I understand it's not news, but I feel it would be a nice addition to be able to see how opinions of games have changed/stayed the same over time. It would also be a good way to recommend Virtual Console titles (though I would for the most part play it on the original system).

good, but can someone change it to where the post formatter makes a >br< tag, instead of >p< a tag? (wickets reversed to show up on page)

forces double spacing, and that gets kind of annoying.

Also, are we ever going to get a search feature? Just asking.

I second having Sky Render's excel sheet implemented into the website.

I'd also like to see being able to have select 4 or 5 consoles/games to compare each other to. This would make it easier to compare all the current gen systems.

Also a possible change to (or whole new area) the hardware table / graphs by date. Make it so we can select the beginning date, and then the number of weeks, for each system independently. That way I could select PS1 starting first week in Jan, and compare it directly to PS2, starting first week in Jan, and going for 52 weeks. The way it is now, I have to look up PS1, select first week of Jan as start, and then last week in Dec as end for the year 1998, and then do the same for the PS2 except for the year 2003 (for example). Being able to have it in one table or graph (especially graphs, making it easier to compare) would be great.

I would do this myself and put it into Excel sheets (since I would really like this feature to help with my comparisons, and which would add other nice features like, being able to see the week with highest sales in a given time period), but I'm afraid I don't have the time to do something like that. If there was a way I could like "download" the data off the website without having to do it manually (i.e. look it up and then copy-paste into excel) I could probably do it.

There's already a separate thread for suggestions, this is pretty much just for discussion of the changes ioi mentioned.

We're pretty set on forum mods right now I think, but anyone wanting to become news contributors should PM me (preferably with a writing sample/reasons you want to be a contributor, etc.) instead of posting here.
