Give Rocksteady the rights to do Marvel games then.

Rocksteady is a part of Warner Bros Interactive. They can make DC games but not Marvel games, Disney is their rival.

Nintendo should look to ink a deal for Marvel properties at least. If they are serious about regaining marketshare in the West, that couldn't hurt.

I still don't reject my statement xD

Will be interesting to see how the reduced competition changes things.

2011 - Skylanders

2012 - Skylanders

2013 - Skylanders & Disney Infinity

2014 - Skylanders & Disney Infinity & Amiibo

2015 - Skylanders & Disney Infinity & Amiibo & LEGO Dimensions

2016 - Skylanders & Amiibo

If Skylanders still sees lower sales this year will be the end of the toy-to-life genre.

2016 still has Lego Dimensions - they are just releasing more expansion packs.  They did not want to do a traditional sequel (new game / portal), but just keep expanding the original game for 3 years.  Having Disney Infinity out of the picture, the popularity of Lego should actually go up.

Here is an article talking about just that:

I know but additional packs doesn't have the impact of a 'NEW' game.

So does anyone else suspect that we will see star wars and marvel characters rocking up In lego dimensions this year?
The assets are already made and disney can just take the royalties.

I also agree that new levels packs doesn't have the impact of a new game. It will be interesting to see how wb handles it

Doughtful the packs just unlock stuff on the disc, why would Dimensions have Marvel stuff on disc?

I imagine new packs would force a download. Not sure all the original packs were on disc either as there were some large multi gig patches for lego dimensions

I never thought that was going to happen. I thought the toy-to-life was doing fine, but I guess this says otherwise? How is skylanders doing then?

I bet Brandon Jones was heartbroken by this news.
