Nintendo is losing the last remnants of there fan base. Last generation there were 100 million Wii owners. In the span of ONE generation they are now down to 13 million. Nintendo needs to wake up fast.

Do handheld owners count as part of the fanbase? I know 58 million isn't much compared to DS, but its still 58 million. It's like saying the Vita shows how many Sony fans are left. It's kinda ridiculous.

I was referring to home console fanbase. But the DS had 150 million units last handheld generation and has gone down to 50 million this gen. I know a lot of that is due to the casual Nintendo fans moving to cell phones and tablets. Yes, casuals are part of the Nintendo fanbase.

People care way too much about this. I've been a Nintendo guy at heart for just about my whole life, and I've basically always had a supplemental system for other third party games and exclusives and whatnot. Just play the games you want to play. Notions of loyalty and all that are just nonsense.

I too did the same thing just recently and ive played some of the best games ever since. Anyone who likes to game alot and only has a wii u as their home console i suggest grow up and move on.

I picked up a Vita in my move from Nintendo to Sony as my primary gaming ecosystem, so you are still on topic. This may be very controversial, but the Vita handheld is so much better than the 3DS it's not even comparable. I have a hard time playing my 3DS now, going back to the low resolution. And I can play my Vita games on the TV with the PSTV and a DualShock 4. And I can stream my PS4 games to the Vita too, ALL my PS4 games.

Vita is grossly, GROSSLY underated and under appreciated. It actually IS my primary console. I use it more than my PS4 or PS3. An all time fave for sure. I only have experience with the 3DS at kiosks. Although I'm sure it's great in it's own right, I have found the low resolution jarring.
