Didn't read through all answers, but I doubt anybody has said the same game as me, which is:

I think it was Final Fantasy X on the PS2.

First one I owned myself was Grand Theft Auto, I think the PSone had been out for at least a year or so before I bought into it, but yeah still have my lovely copy of GTA and all its map inserts on my shelf next to me.

My first game on a ps was persona 3 on ps2

First game I played was FIFA Street on PS2 at a friend's house. First game I owned myself is either Need For Speed: Most Wanted or GTA San Andreas.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3

My First Playstation game was Doom II and Crash Bandicoot. We, my brother and I,  purchased them at the same time but the first one played wad Doom II.

I purhchased the original Playstation within months of it's release after foolishly trading my games into Funcoland.

Tomb Raider 2 and Grand Turismo.
