Well I mean yes the Wii sold red hot for a few years, but was that really a sustainable ecosystem? The end results say no. Eventually all those casuals got tired of flailing their arms around and realized they were still 50 pounds overweight despite using Wii Fit once a week and decided to move on to the next fad.

As a Nintendo fan, the Wii brought precious little in terms of actual improvement to the Nintendo situation. Games like Mario Galaxy would've been just as good if not better on a HD "GameCube 2", we didn't get any better third party support, all we got was a flood of cheap, crappy casual game fare like Carnival Games and horrificly "casualized" Wii titles like Soul Calibur Legends and light gun shooters.

Nintendo never bothered to spend any of that Wii profit on expanding new studios or buying different exclusives or anything like that, Nintendo fans ended up basically just paying 2.5x the price of a GameCube for basically the same hardware moderately overclocked with a new controller.

how is any of that relevant? Pavolink said Nintendo should listen to people like Normchacho who advocate for Nintendo to make a console similar to GC, which was a failure.

There's no gauruntee an opposite approach would do any better though. Nintendo didn't even create the Wiimote, that invented by an American guy who tried to sell it to Sony or MS first; Nintendo's from the ground up attempt at a casual controller is the Wii U tablet and we saw how that went.

Honestly, a new Super Mario a la 64/Sunshine. Hell make it a sequel to 64, bring back the paintings and the castle.
Also a launch price of $300-$400 and not a penny more, apart from taxes of course.

You are right, making the opposite of Gamecube is not a gauranteed success, but that is besides the point.

As for the Wii U Gamepad, its basically just an evolution of the GC-GBA connectivity.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

I need it to cost $300 or less
Zelda being great (which I don't doubt it will be)
3D Mario preferably in the vein of Mario 64 and it being great.
Luigi's Mansion 3

A cheap price and Zelda at launch. One of those is already confirmed.

A true 3D Mario wouldnt hurt either.

Good games is all I ask for, and Zelda NX will be a good start Some 3rd party would be nice sprinkles to the cake.

I would buy it for F-Zero, or Custom Robo no hesitation

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

I'm not gonna buy it year one for sure. I am thinking i won't buy it at all. Only thing that would make me waver would be fire emblem and xenoblade.

If its a portable its more likely than a home console though.

Pikmin maker or a proper paper Mario game with a good story and RPG elements
- must not a gimmick console

2 to 5 major games I want. Basically, what they need for me to buy it at all. Just like the PS4, Xbone, and Wii U. And the 7th gen before that. Sure, maybe I come off a bit mercenary in the eyes of those who are excessively brand loyal but it does mean I'm never disappointed with a platform cause how can I be? I only buy them when I know I will be more or less satisfied. If the NX has Zelda, Metroid Prime, and Splatoon 2 come out in 2017, that would be very, very tempting. Throw in a new, great looking 3D Mario and I would be almost certain to get it in 2017.
