Forums - Nintendo - Do you think D:DoC will open the path for mature games on the wii?

PS: Leo j imo you have choose a bad time to leave ninty and become a sony fan since ninty is winning the console war and sony is losing for the first time. You should have stay neutral  before the wii I used to be a sony fan and  I was  planning to buy a ps3 but then I played smg,but anyways I am planning to sell my 360 and wait until sony cuts the price of the ps3 to buy one I also hope that kh3 goes to the ps3( don't tell soriku) so I have another good reason to  buy a ps3.

Even Nintendo makes mistakes...(flameshields at max Mr. Zulu) and yes new s**t has to come to light... but if this game was going to be as good as we all hope I don´t see why Nintendo would first show it off and then never talk about it again... maybe Project Hammer beeing canceled just made me paranoid...

I don't know if I'd use Project Hammer as an indiction. It was a game about swinging a hammer. I think we're all better off that that got canned.

I know I may sound like starcraft here but I don´t think Disaster will end up beeing that good since Nintendo has been very silent about it... sure E3 might change things but since it was displayed before the Wiis launch it is way overdue for release or at least more info... the silence just makes you expect the worst... (plus the original screns didn´t look that impressive)

I have high hopes for Disaster (I mean, would Nintendo have bought the company if the game were crap)

But We just don't know enough about the game at all to make any kind of speculation on something like this question.

Ya. This game is a lot Heavy Rain or Eight Days. We know its coming, but we haven't heard very much about them.

I don't know why you're alarmed that a Nintendo game has been delayed and that they haven't spoken much about it. As important as Twilight Princess was to Nintendo, they didn't exactly pull back the curtain on it long before release. We've just recently gotten a good bit of info on Mario Kart, and it wasn't but a month or so ago everyone was predicting it would be pushed back until the holidays. If we only go by what Nintendo has officially said, then I guess they won't be releasing any games in the second half of 08.

I don't know what the future holds for Disaster, but I'm no more worried about it than I am any Nintendo game(besides the sure things like Mario and Zelda, which will always be coming).

Comon stof... all you did in Donkey Kong was jump around and... "swing a Hammer"... and thats Nintendos first classic Mario game... sure Project Hammer would never have been a classic game but I was hopeing for some fun multiplayer and a great way to show what the Wii can do...

Disaster might still become a great game but as long as Nintendo is silent about it it looks as if they are hiding something... and why hide something good ???

@ quigon and outlaw: If we were talking about a Mariokart, Zelda or Mario game I wouldn´t worry for a second... but those always turn out good, Disaster is a new game by a new dev. it looked pretty far in process before the Wii was launced but were is it now ??? Why isn´t it out yet ??? Are they fixing something ??? What is broke ??? Are reptilians involved ??? For me its just a bad sign when a game gets the Duke Nukem Forever sindrome (but Disaster is far from that so we can still hope)

But they're silent about everything right now Dude. We don't know jack about squat on their upcoming lineup.

Personally, I thought Project H.A.M.M.E.R. looked ridiculously fun, but that's just me. I think they canned it because the studio wanted to support Miis using the hammer, but HQ didn't want them used in a serious way.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

What happend to Project H.A.M.M.E.R?

They don´t need to talk about games like MarioKart or other games we have seen before (Kirby, Donkey Kong...) we know they never fail... but a new dev. with a new game should be talked about... sure they might be treating all games the same way but they should hype new franchises if they want to sell them, as long as Disaster doens´t prove me wrong it will stay... well a Disaster...

It got hammered a while ago... rumors were it had no chance of ever passing Nintendos quality control.
