What I don't get is this statement:

Nintendo CEO: NX won't simply replace 3DS and WiiU

Okay, it might just say that you can use the WiiU gamepad on NX and connect with your 3DS. But it's still weird to make such a statement when you're about to fully abandon a system software-wise...

I think it could be more than this to be honest.

Did Nintendo also release up to date shipment data for Wii U/3DS? As well as profit data?

Jebus.... Wii U is 200k-300k atleast overtracked on here ; _ ;

Poor Wii U... its never going to cross that 15m milestone is it?

Not even close. This final 800k is basically the last of the Wii Us realistically. That would put it at a 13.6 mill finish.

NX won't just replace them but also do something more than that. What that something more is we don't know, but the important thing is that it confirms NX is a successor to both systems.

Maybe its not a home console or a handheld device?

Imagine if it turned out to be like a big tablet?

I know I'll be the only one saying this, but there has to be another Wii U game coming out before March.

Who cares if Nintenod "skip" a gen when it comes to Zelda & animal crossing on their home console?

Who cares if Nintendo stop doing 3D platformers like Galaxy / mario 64 / Sunshine?

Who cares if Nintendo didnt do a Metroid game for their console?

*looks at Wii U sales according to vgc*

There has to be? Id say yes, but at this point Im not even sure.

Nintendo does whatever the hell they want to.

A proper tablet that can be connected to a stationary console as a second screen, but really is portable (unlike the WiiU gamepad) would actually be great. Nintendo could finally win back the young gamers who prefer iPads over handheld consoles. It would also enable Nintendo to port WiiU games.

All things considered, Sony ended up doing a better job at sustaining the Vita than Nintendo appears to have done with the WiiU.

What's the last notable game Sony released for the Vita?

Nintendo tried with Wii U, no one else did.

Lol Sony gave up on the vita on 2014 with Freedom Wars, that was the last sony game to get a physical release on vita(there was

Oreshika too but that was digital only and also on 2014). Thankfully 3rd Party developers have been great towards it and have kept it alive ever since the beginning and are still releasing some great titles.

Kimishima said that production for the Wii U may end in the fiscal year ending March 2018. So obviouly production WON'T end this fiscal year.
