There were leaks from before the embargo broke stating an arcade mode unlockable in-game. The Black Arwing is a nice touch to have in-game but that's exactly the kind of content I'd expect to be locked behind amiibo so I wouldn't care either way there.

Either way this isn't exactly news. The game needed SOMETHING extra to justify the $50 price tag and writing this game off as a success in any way would be better for them than selling some more Star Fox amiibos.

People were right to question, yes, but not assume it was already the case. As there have been cases of locked content, there have also been cases of content being unlockable through alternative methods.

Basically, people should have just waited before throwing a bitch fit.
