Forums - Gaming - What game pulled you into the Gaming community?

What got me into gaming was the JRPGs on the SNES and PS1. I didn't really care for gaming beyond just playing for just 10 to 20 mins at a time once in awhile. I rather go run around the neighborhood with my friends getting into mischief and swimming in the lake. JRPGs got me interested because of the rich stories they told. The genre engaged me mentally. They're a lot like interactive comic books or novels.

Super Mario 64

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I got my first console very young it's was the sega megadrive (Genesis) but it wasn't till the sega Saturn and shining Force 3 that I really got into gaming. It was my first RPG and I loved how it immersed you into the story like reading a book, that's when I truly got into gaming.

NES w/ Mario and Duck Hunt.

I was like 4yrs old sitting in the shopping cart when I saw my dad picked up the Nintendo box and put it into the cart. I was extremely excited when I saw that happen, and has been hooked ever since.

Yet the funny thing thinking about it now is that I honestly don't remember how I even knew about the NES back then and how I got so excited for it. I dont recall seeing or playing someone elses Nintendo prior to when my dad got it. Must be some missing memory =P

Well, I can't say I'm super active on this site or in the community, but when I got back into gaming in 2012, I realized that none of my real-life friends enjoyed gaming anymore. Not as a full-fledged hobby, at least. I was playing all of these awesome games for the first time (Bioshock, Uncharted, Metroid Prime, The Last of Us, etc.) and had nobody to talk with about my experiences. So I came online to connect with others.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

I know that feeling, and I love it. I found my first Gamecube at a Garadge Sale, and I instantly was excited about it. I had never played one in my life, but I was more excited than anything to get it. So I bought it, and spent hours apon hours of my time playing Super Mario Sunshine, and StarFox Adventures. I loved it so much.

This. I had been playing Tetris on my moms OG Gameboy for pretty much my whole life. But it was Super Mario 64 that really got me into gaming.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Arkanoid, Head Over Heels and The Legend of Kage on the Amstrad cpc 6128, didnt have any internet back then.

Some of my very first games were Pokemon Red/Blue, Mario Party 2, Super Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Pokemon Stadium, and Ocarina of Time, so I guess it would be these games.
