Well I hadn't read any reviews, just thought it was a game that would translate perfectly to XBLA...Seems like they fucked it up though :(

Just as well I didn't blind purchase this one then...

Well I know which game I'm really looking forward to. Dodonpachi Daioujou from Cave.

http://www.famitsu.com/game/coming/1213991_1407.html

I loved the original Dodonpachi and Daioujou is an excellent sequel that was on the PS2. Not sure about the release date as it only says "2008"...

There is also another Cave shooter game coming, too. It's called Ketsui, but I've never tried that one before.

Some good schmup gaming coming though Still waiting for Ikaruga to be released as well

Dont know whether you know this, but these two games are most likely going to come in a retail format rather than XBLA.

Yeah, I saw that it didn't get approval for XBLA. I don't understand that though. :( At least they are still going to bring them out at retail. I hope it's kind of a 2 in 1 package, hehe. I'll definitely buy DDP: Daioujou when it's released, but I'm not sure about the other one. If it's not too expensive I'll get it too.

I still need to pick up Shikigami no Shiro 3 for the 360.

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

I hope they sell well, it'll give microsoft a big f**k you, and a wake up call about how XBLA is facing troubles right now.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

I think the issue, from MS's perspective is the over-abudnance of schmups on XBLA that they've had recently:

Omega 5
Triggerheart Exelica
Ikaruga

And maybe a few others? Either way, that's alot of schmups for the few games that've come to Arcade the past few weeks.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I'd rather have more schmups than the overabundance of puzzle games. (bad ones to be exact.)

I understand. We need to replace Puzzlers with RPGs on Arcade.

Why would you blind purchase ANY Xbox Live Arcade game when they all have free trial versions??

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

Confirmation of Ikaruga, and new content for Poker Smash:

The Arcade Shooter Gamers Have Been Clamoring For: Treasure’s “Ikaruga” Launches On Xbox LIVE Arcade this Wednesday and Void Star Releases New Downloadable Content for “Poker Smash”

The Japanese arcade hit “Ikaruga” receives the full Xbox LIVE Arcade treatment and is poised to launch on the platform this Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. GMT (1:00 a.m. PDT).

“Ikaruga” is a fast-paced scrolling shooter with a twist – players must constantly switch their ship’s polarity to maximize their damage output and avoid incoming enemy fire of the opposite polarity.

“Ikaruga” on Xbox LIVE Arcade features a two-player co-op mode both locally and over Xbox LIVE. Newcomers can also easily bring their skill up to speed by using the game’s slow motion training mode.
“Ikaruga” is a perfect combination of beautiful, manga-style storytelling and challenging arcade heroics, all brought to life in a gorgeous HD environment.

Gamers itching to obtain a moment of “Ikaruga” glory will be wise to master the chaining system that detects when enemies of the same polarity are destroyed consecutively. Doing so will reward players with huge score bonuses, which will be key to topping “Ikaruga’s” leaderboards.

The ability to relive a particularly harrowing battle is also possible thanks to the game’s record and replay function, which is new to the Xbox LIVE Arcade version of the game.

From the Japanese developer Treasure, “Ikaruga” will be available worldwide for 800 Microsoft Points and is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB. For more details on “Ikaruga” please visit:

The “Poker Smash” Environment Pack and Puzzle Pack will each be available for 100 Microsoft Points.
