FYI,

Mr. Driller Online IS the confirmed Wednsday Arcade title for XBLA on 4/2/08, at 800MSP.

I'm excited about this game, and I do believe it's going to do VERY well...I'd expect sales around 9,000-12,000 first week, and out-preform current champ Brain Challenge.

Just an FYI for those interested:

Penny Arcade Adventures is breaking the price barrier on Arcade titles. It's debuting on Arcade at the same price it is on PC - $20.00 USD, or 1600 MSP. IMO, that's incredibly stupid, but they decided that.

it will sell as well as the DL-able samurai warriors expansion (it is 30$) and that is badly.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

Thats what I figured.

Either way though, it sets a VERY bad precident for XBLA titles.

Arcade titles have always been the uber-budget, but good (sometimes), games. XBLA was always cheaper than the other sources of games...But now, thanks to Penny Arcade, will not be.

And I know this sounds stupid, and maybe biased...But I just don't see, with the mem. caps, and everything else, how they are going to make a XBLA game that is worth $20.

Well I know which game I'm really looking forward to. Dodonpachi Daioujou from Cave.

I loved the original Dodonpachi and Daioujou is an excellent sequel that was on the PS2. Not sure about the release date as it only says "2008"...

There is also another Cave shooter game coming, too. It's called Ketsui, but I've never tried that one before.

Some good schmup gaming coming though Still waiting for Ikaruga to be released as well

Dont know whether you know this, but these two games are most likely going to come in a retail format rather than XBLA.

If anyone cares:

Mr. Driller Online launched today, and has sold pretty well in the few, few hours it's been on Live for.

Spearheaded by about 40% Japanese users, it already has more than 400 units sold since 3am EST (it's 10am now).

Should project out to 10,000 units, as I predicted.

^^ is that good? i mean, 10,000 units.

In the recent weeks titles haven't been selling very well. (opening weeks)

Someone (preferably someone who knows how to fucking spell) add the following XBLA games to the vgchartz game database:

Commanders: Attack of the Genos
Contra
Double Dragon
Eets: Chowdown
Heavy Weapon
Jetpac Refuelled
Marble Blast Ultra
Missile Command
N+
Omega Five
Outpost Kaloki X
Rez HD
Rocketman: Axis of Evil
Wik: Fable of Souls

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

Strategy -

10k for opening week isn't too shabby. The top-5 best selling games of 2008 have all sold around 10,000 on their first 3 days (N+ was at 13k, Brain Challenge at 10k, Poker Smash at 10k). Metal Slug was at 7k, and Rez HD was at 25k.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I still have Mr.Driller on Dreamcast...will definitely pick this version up...

Penny arcade Adventures suggests the developers have not been paying attention to XBLA. It will sell a fraction of it's potential at that price, no matter how good it is. Isn't it just the first 'episode' ?(i remember reading it some time ago). It would have made more sense to give this a full retail release at a budget price.

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2
