MS paid for a botched PC port to promote the Xbox One version. Phil is smart, real smart.

Who wants to play a game that got a 77 on metacritic anyways? disgusting

77 is a perfectly good score, if it was... idk 81 you probably wouldn't be using the score like that

He was being sarcastic.

My bad I thought the sarcasm ended on the line before - i've also just been informed that his profile pic is the QB guy - guess i've just come to expect that stuff without sarcasm, heard the quality of the port called disgusting a few times but no ID if they are right...

Buying order: Switch, better pc

Doesn't matter to me as long as they are good on xbone.

Actions speak louder than words. So far the actions have not met.

PC gamers LOVE Steam, this is what they have to go against, that is the bar of quality and expectation, anything less will be laughed at.

I remember distinctively seeing them claim that they didn't want to "compete" against Steam, then sometime after WIndows 10 adoption went up and the Windows 10 store and UWP happened, it's funny how they turned around and now want to not support anyone else but their one system ideal, one where Steam and others have no place ebcause they aren't a part of MS. Meanhile Steam supports Apple, Windows XP, 7,8,8.1, Linux distros and even Windows 10, MS's store only supports Windows 10 so far.

This is the reason I think MS will fail to attract the PC gaming crowd, if they really wanted to push PC gaming they'd stop locking games behind GFWL 2.0 oh erm I mean Windows 10 store.

Edit: Yes I know MS wants to push Windows 10 but lets be honest, MS isn't going to gain any significant market share against steam. My opinion though

I have seen some folk using Steam as a mirror argument on how some of their titles are exclusive to just their store but the fact of the matter is that those games were built on the source engine, they are also entirely playable across multiple forms of hardware, playable on Apple and the other OS's I mentioned, even last gen systems, with Windows 10 store however you can only play those ported titles on a Windows 10 OS and X1, 360 if you're very luckily rememebred by MS. Modding is also heavily supported by Steam for plenty of games, even their own which they fully and openly want you to, they even gave our Source Film maker which allows people to make their own machinemas with their titles like TF2, L4D etc, MS doesn't and hasn't allowed for much if any modding of their PC titles since the beginning and to be frank, it's going to be their downfall if they seek to create a closed and restictive garden, one where you only buy from MS, use only Windows 10 store and have no such freedom over your games, at least with Steam Valve have stated that if they ever went out of business they would allow a method for you to keep your titles and Steam allows for offline play entirely, then of course there are others like GOG with an entirely optional client besides also being DRM free which MS's store isn't as it requires you to log in like with QB to prove you aren't some pirate along with the store being built into just one OS.

If MS wants to win the whole war and battles, they are going to have to give up on their walled garden idea along with the UWP system, all that is going to do for them is wall off other competition as well as making a section of PC gaming far more restritive and less appealing. They should just take all the pages from the past 12 years that Steam has gone through as well as a good number from GoG, Origin and Uplay aren't good sources to learn from nor are they wanting to evolve at all either, Battle.net client is built on the Battle.net system so that's a different source to learn from.

Lol. Isn't that a slap in the face of everyone? They clearly don't want to make better PC ports or else they would do just that.
What he means with "better launches" is "less people complaining about a shitty port". Well if they continue to release shit on PC people might get used to it and he will get his wish.

Can you tell me how you go from his tweet

Phil: "We want to do a better job with PC releases, no question. We are taking the feedback and working to get better."

to

Vivster: "Well if they cantinue so peoples may use get to used to this and he may will get this his wish for shitty ports." (yeah I know grammar)

I think at some point Microsoft will just say "screw this", take another few billions and straight out buy Valve. Then they will integrate Steam into Windows which will pretty much replace the windows store.

Oh, don't mind me, just fantasizing a little.
