Forums - Microsoft - Do the visuals in quantum break slightly bother anyone else?

I love the grainy affect, I loved it in Mass Effect 1 aswell... I don't know why tho...

In Mass Effect it was cool because the game was not employing the best graphics. It was very sharp and grainy to the eye the whole game so you got used to it and almost forgot that it was an issue.Quantum Break strives to set graphical standards but seems like they shouldve really taken some extra time with this game. In Mass Effect the gainyness is cool but as I told someone else, it jumps from grainy to blurry and back to clear.

I've not played the game, but the graphics on videos on YouTube etc look really smooth. I often discover these things when games sometimes end up looking better on videos than the game itself when played at home on TV.

some of ya'll must have some pretty OCD eye sight. I can go from playing something like Dying Light on max settings on PC to Resident Evil 2 on the Gamecube and not be bothered by one looking considerly worse than the other.

I imagine this is the same crowd that is offended by the quality of DVD's vs. Blu Ray's haha. goodness

Note: if you have a giant television or are projecting the game then anything will undoubtedly look worse than expected as its got to be stretched

I haven't seen QB playing in person yet, but I get where he's coming from. I'm super sensitive to image quality and I almost never watch dvds anymore.

And watching something on a big TV doesn't really stretch it, it's just a lower pixel density.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Are you using a 4K tv by chance?

My upscaler makes many things grainy from my ps4.... most 3d games, and even netflix. I usually need to use the smart tv netflix instead.

More specifically, out of focus dark backgrounds get very, very grainy on netflix.

Yeah, I've seen that before, but not this time around before. My TV pretty much a normal 1080p LED. Its not very demanding. It only happens with this game. My PS4 is a crisp. My Xbox One is awesome but Quantum Break goes from grainy, to muddy to clear and does a dance between the three during gameplay.

LOL Yeah this is the truth. My friend tell me sometimes if I upgrades to a fully loaded PC, I would only turn back to console just for characters and gameplay. This game is good so far, it kills the immersion to have tech issues.
