It's the same thing as the guy at Gamespot that hates 3rd person shooter. These are the professional game journalists.

The following is dialog from Joe during one of their streams.

They're playing the game and have to get through a gate. I would assume Joe has put the time into this game to know this area by now. Right?

Joe: "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!"
Joe: "This gaaaame! (laughing) This game!! (laughing)"

(pause while acting annoyed by game and rubbing face/head)

Joe: "Stupid fucking invisible walls! That's hilarious."

(lets slow that down)

Invisible walls...right Joe?

On the fourth try they finally get through the gate with the time freeze/blast (the easiest "puzzle" in the game).

Now...I guess we find out Joe HASN'T put any time into this area...

Joe: "But still! He didn't use the RIIIIIGHT...He didn't use the riiight (does quotation fingers) time power." (Continues implying you can only do things one way) "You have to use the riiiight time power."

Joe: (responding to character's conversation) "No you can't, you can't control time...what do you think this is Quantum Break?" (after all, you can only do things one way)

------------------

Hmmm, so do these play sessions influence Joe's review? Did Joe actually play these sections and figure out there isn't just one way? Did he figure out that these invisible walls were often him or other players with him not pulling things off correctly?

Let us go fire up the game..I.. I assume Joe has played that part (multiple times). The way he's acting these invisible walls and only "one way" to do things has to be right. Why would he keep harping on it?

Here we go..

..imagine that...very first try, with the "wrooong" time power, that you apparently can't use. Boy, that invisible wall and only one way to do things sure messed me up.

Lets try screwing around now. Lets see if that "invisible wall" Joe moaned, and overeacted about ever gets in my way.

Surely I couldn't go through the gate multiple times with multiple powers even. Surely you can only go through the gate one way...I mean..there has to be an invisible wall there at some point.

(shrug..haha)

Anyway, this is just one of multiple situations where comments he's made isn't accurate. Not everything he talks about is off-base, but his stuff makes me do some double takes when I know for a fact what he's saying is not right.

And here I am, thinking that I'm pretty bad at TPS. Well, actually, I am, but not so bad XD.

Reviewers should stick to the games they know or like the best imo.

So every person who gave à 4 and said the shooting is boring is just à bad gamer ?

That seems far fetched

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Very strange if two sites decided to pick reviewers who specifically hate this genre to review the game, especially when you consider just how popular other games like Gears and Uncharted are now, surely they would have had a handful of guys who would have been happy to take up the job of reviewing it.

Also it could just be a case of people who do moderately like the genre... but as Aerys says above if it's a genuinely boring version of said genre then it's not going to do anything to win people over who are on the fence about it, which would then fairly warrant a lower score, I mean, I'm not really a fan of the FPS genre, but the first Halo trilogy are some of the best games I've played, just because they are so great I happily ignored my dislike of the genre because the games themselves were masterpieces.

THe points he made in the video where legitimate though.

Hes playing it like a cover shooter.

No blind fire in this game lol or is that the point? There is but he doesn't know how to use

I'm at chapter 4 right now. I agree with his points.

The fighting basically feels like "which power should I use now". I wouldn't consider that a bad thing though - but at the same time I don't feel like I'm doing anything amazing.

Freeze you, shield me, run over there and smack a guy.

It sounds like you are saying "they aren't playing it the way I want them too.. so automatically discount their review".

Yeah I don't really agree with the "play it properly" I'm sure people weren't being harsh that the 6month old baby wasn't using super combos or special moves when she finished street fighter 5's story last month, that doesn't mean that it isn't a way that a game can be played, if there are in correct ways to play something then the dev should add something to stop the player from "playing it wrong"

Looks to me like he's just trying to explain the mechanics instead of playing seriously.

No he wasn't playing the game the way its meant to be played but more like a regular tps. He didn't even use the powers correctly in the video.
