Forums - Nintendo - Emily Rogers Rumour: There's a lot of Wii U ports coming to NX

pokoko said:

That's not true at all and I'm having a hard time believing anyone is claiming otherwise.  There were a lot of people on these forums taking shots at the PS4 for being a remaster box not all that long ago and I expect to see those same people doing the same thing if it happens on the NX.

Believe what you will thats fine.  Just a differene of opinion lol

There was a rumor about a definitive edition of Smash being worked for NX some time ago, and now Splatoon... so that goes in line will those rumors.

I know that Spemanig will agree but I dont think Nintendo's big multiplayer & online focused games really need sequels. Games like Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Splatoon, Mario Maker could be definitive versions of the Wii U games that become services with continued updates.

Exactly. My copies of Xenoblade Chronicles X, Tropical Freeze, or Splatoon aren't going to spontaneously combust or become less fun just because they've been ported to another system.

Um, yes they are. *poof*

You're right. I do agree.

Off topic - I do think Splatoon will get a sequel though. But I think it would benefit the franchise and make Nintendo more money if they made it's multiplayer f2p, as backwards as that sounds. I've said for ages that I think Splatoon should be Nintendo's Team Fortress 2 in that way. If you look at what Nintendo's doing with Miitomo, I think they should be doing the literal exact same thing for a Splatoon sequel with weapons and clothes. Earn in-game currency slowly by playing or buy it with real money.

Price the single player at like $20-$30 for those who want it, though.

As a Wii U owner, I don't see how it "sucks" for me.

same here, i dont understand how other people getting to play a game somehow impacts my enjoyment of that game.

Same, totally agree. Because some Wii U games will be ported to NX my enjoyment with Wii U is now less!? That doesn't make any sense, same could be said for PS3 owners when some games were ported to PS4.

step in the right direction if true.

At least four, she said? I'm gonna go with Smash, Splatoon, and Zelda, obviously; and for the fourth either Bayonetta to lead into the inevitable Bayo3, Xenoblade X because it's just the right kind of game for them to port in hopes that a new audience takes hold, or Mario Maker because they haven't milked that as much as I thought they would yet.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Also people need to realise that ports/remasters are great like filler in release schedule between completely new games. So dont expect all those Wii U ports at launch, only game that is almost certain for launch is Zelda U, but when Zelda U will arrive it will basically be completely new game not port of old Wii U game like other possible ports.

I think it's a matter of saving a few hundred dollars on buying the next system with the chane you'll enjoy the games from last gen plus the new ones.

no thats ridiculous, the entire Wii U library isnt getting ported to NX, its a select few titles.

lets say Smash Bros & Splatoon get ported to NX in 2016 & 2017, thats 2 years after the Wii U versions released, so the only people who should feel burned are the people who bought Wii U solely for those two games and would rather have waited to play them 2 years later.

Yeah, it is, but it's the only possible reason I could think why other people would be saying they feel bad for Wii U owners.
