Has there been a case of a game that went thru development hell and it was great when released?

Metroid Prime

Yeah...Prime was such a good game.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Can we wait until the game is finished until we talk about framerate issues?

Unfortunaly Im far, far away from my PS4(and Wii U), and will be a long time until Im able to play with it again. Its been hard to not play MSG V, XCX, Fallout 4, Dark Souls and many more.Contenting myself with videos for now.

Edit:Ugh, I wrote wrong it my previous post.I meant:Now its much better, especially after IGN said it feels like KH.

Watch out. I don't think it plays like KH at all. You hold down one button and the character auto-attacks or auto-defends. These things are manual and instant on demand in KH. It's a very diferent feel. If you try to play it instantly, it won't work so well. You get locked into animations.

Really?Thats... dissapointing. But I may still like it in the end.Or they may change it for the final product, since it must be a simple thing to fix if needed.Ill pray for the best.Still looks better than the first demo(this one I played)

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Ambitions > Tech and even current consoles seem not good enough. (theorically)

Worse yet. Their ambition was too high for the old tech. You just can't say it was also too high for this current tech. They just went on and on and on and now the game is paying the price.

Ambition is not something constant. It can increase or descrease as time goes. With that said, we don't know what the vision was when development started and how it changed as the proyect went on. Also, current consoles are a bit weaksauce and the smallest technical increment ever for Xbox and PlayStation platforms. Even if the plans stayed the same,  there's a chance these consoles just weren't good enough anyway.

Oh... as to why one can dismiss the graphics, i already showed you in the other thread but you choose to ignore. Points with great looking graphics next to low polly, low texture, no lighting structures. Like, next to each other.

That is bad graphics. If you are going to tell me FFXV has great graphics you will have to tell me how Kingdoms of amalur had great graphics and how those low res structures are to be ignored. I mean... its impossible not to notice. You can't just ignore 10% of the game that looks abysmal and say it looks good. You aren't beeing truthful.

The game looks good, but has many sloppy mistakes still. It needs optimization. If they manage to do that, the game will have great graphics... if they don't then it will be an inconsistance mess. Note, inconsistant graphics aren't good graphics. And all this is without even taking FPS into account.

As much as people like you try to deny it...but FF isn't really all about the graphics.

It's all about the atmosphere, the story, characters, exploration, FMVs(for the PS1 kids), etc so I wouln't worry too much about the graphics.

If someone asks why I'm using an alt account, CGI and Truckusaurus got me a temp approval until I get my iconic and notorious "kurasakiichimaru" account back. :p

All FF has been known for are graphics since FF10. The game lacks exploration, vehicles, good characters, exciting stories, workd interaction and the actual fantasy element outside of certain species and abilities. Personally I am sick of them using the same character models since FF10 -which I never liked. Uncharted 4 looks much better than this game and offers real exploration, environment traversal and environment interaction with better physics, effects, character models and better A.I. Nothing in FF15 is impressive as it is all in the background and just used for show like they did in the old days with CGI.

Yet Uncharted 4 destroys FF15 in both ambition and technically. Also the game started as a PS3 exclusive then went through a director change which altered the original vision and concept. The PS4 would have no problem running this game however they desire outside of 60fps if it was exclusive obviously. Judging the PS4 by a multiplat game is noy accurate of reality.

"Its not the devolopers fault that your consoles are too weak to handle FF15."

What an absolutely awful and ridiculous perspective. No one should ever be allowed to use that excuse with a game that is primarily designed for home consoles. It is the job of the developers to make a game that will run on the intended platform. If they cannot accomplish that then they've failed.

"people like me". You know nothing about me.

Messy presentation and graphical performance will get criticised cause it affects my enjoyment to the gameplay and imersion in the game world. I will not turn a bling eye to it, be it FF or any other series.

How good graphics are i can ignore. How well they perform, i cannot.

Uncharted 4 is not an open world game.
