How are your devices connected? Wifi or ethernet?

My PC, PS4 and Xbox One are wired

Mine are all over wifi, should be better wired. My youngest was streaming you tube as well over wifi while I was recording.
More like a worst case scenario.

Oh yeah, I had seen that you could change those in the app. I was more asking about the forced full RGB.

By the way, who on earth is going to play in 360p @ 30fps.

You have to set the full RGB on the ps4, not controlled by the app. You can ofcourse do it in remote play. You can't however switch users in remote play. Since extra players can join in (directly connected to the ps4) I figured why not switch to a different user and play with the wireless controller connected to the ps4 instead. Yet you can only do as a second player.

Another quirk, can't use the keyboard for typing messages DOH! The arrow keys and enter on the keyboard work for navigating virtual keyboard, facepalm!

Oooh yeah! That makes sense. Also, it's really weird that you can have someone else playing on the TV at the same time.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I guess they repurposed the software for share play. Anyway as long as your ps4 is close you can play 4 player on a second screen.
I tried connecting a usb keyboard to my laptop, see if the software was that stupid :) It's not, no support for typing on the keyboard.
(Can still connect it directly to the ps4 and type there, still doesn't trick the app into using the laptop's keyboard)

It has been a more stable after moving the laptop away from the ps4. Wifi interference maybe or my network cleared up.
Now even less need for social interaction, playing couch co-op on separate screens!

Some more screens with full RGB (PrtSc on laptop)
The more movement, the more motion artifacts naturally.

Videos showing the extra lag: (And my crappy wifi)

Racing on a track I made from scratch in the track editor
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIA0xqLQ9IA&feature=youtu.be
(dunno why there is no 60fps option, filmed it in 60i)

It's playable, yet image quality and lag make it less suitable for twitch racers.
Btw, I see the point of digital downloads now, can't swap the disc in my laptop :p

Nice documentation! The lag doesn't seem like it is too bad, maybe someone will be able to measure it.
Have you tried making the same videos in the menu/OS side of things, then you'll be able to clearly see discrete changes.

DF will probably give an accurate measurement, my tv is not the fastest either since the gamepad is visibly faster as well.

I tried a video with Minecraft first, easy to see jumping and turning there yet for some reason that's the game that won't work right in remote play. The controls always screw up as if the controller has a short, which only stops after closing remote play and restarting the game. And that happens for all players. No clue what Minecraft does, it's the only game I've found so far that does that.

I also tried using move via remote play, quickly moving the cursor is definitely challenging with the added lag. The move directly connecys to the ps4, didn't try connecting that to the laptop.

Anyway I played Life is Strange for a while via remote play, for slower games it works fine. I guess I can chip away at my backlog now while the tv is in use.

Lame that its not available on Windows 7 :(

I tried it out on my Win 10 laptop and the lag was noticeable. Doesn't seem like I'll use this very often.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

Same from me. I'm unsure about updating my 7 to 10 as well. I don't see any real point when the last few 7 update started crashing my laptop. It's not that old really.

Guess this is not a feature for me.

Hmm, pie.

That's the best thing, off-tv can help with that! Specially in busy households.

Well silly me, making videos. Trackmania Turbo has a lag test in the settings menu

I can get it down to < 10ms on my tv (sometimes 15ms). That was my best out of 3 attempts on my laptop.
That's still over wifi both ways. I could ofcourse move the ps4 to the router and connect it with a lan cable when its not using the tv. Might be better. However my kids are now playing Minecraft on it, using both the ps4 and tv, doh!
