why do so many people even care about the NX. The WiiU is just over 3 years old and many of its promises have not been fulfilled. What about the NX being a new console makes people believe that Nintendo will reverse its course of the past 10 years?

I hope they do. I was a huge Nintendo fan. The direction they took the Wii turned me away and the WiiU has almost turned me against them.

I am just tired of seeing a stupid about of threads about the NX when the PC/PS4/XB1 are literally in their prime for the GEN.

the NEX is a real thing. There is one 5 min from my house down near Pearl Harbor. I think every Navy base has some form of one.

I have to call BS on this. Unless Nintendo is going back on its word about not wanting to make an expensive console. If these things are true (12 GB of RAM, more powerful CPU, 50% better GPU, and a HD screen controller), I see a $399 console. And DDR3 RAM? Not GDDR5? That's going to be a bottleneck for future games.

Saying a direct would be announced "in the next few days" is way too vague to be considered convincing if such a direct is announced. It's too generic, and mostly fairly predictable for anyone with no foreknowledge. Nintendo has a history of having a single teaser of some sort prior to the E3 when they reveal their new system. There's also need for a direct to cover some new Pokemon information prior to its reveal in CoroCoro (because it's unlikely that the first information reveal for Sun/Moon will be CoroCoro exclusive). They need to talk about the new features of My Nintendo and Miitomo, as well as talk about Star Fox Zero/Guard, Lost Reavers, and TMS#FE. And there's undoubtedly at least one more new title they want to announce soon.

So a new Direct announced in the next few days isn't exactly a particularly bold prediction. I'd suggest that it's maybe a 40% chance of it happening within the next, say, 5 days.

There are too many questionable things in the claim, including the part where the guy claims to be a dev in a third party, perhaps even indie, studio, yet somehow knows internal Nintendo information like when they plan to announce a Direct or what engines are being used by Nintendo internally, not to mention the name of the console. There's also no chance that they would know how much memory is being allocated to the OS itself, since it's not relevant to external developers - what matters to them is the memory allocation for games.

I much prefer "Nintendo Entertainment Xperience"...
