Uplay points aren't as easy to generate as these though, here you can literally generate a good amout of point by simply just answering questions and changing your Mii's wardrobe. If the points didn't expire you'd have loads of people exploiting this so they can go and get discounts or even free games, I don't think you can get free games or discounts with Uplay points.

Because it encourages a person to buy as much shit as possible in a short amount of time. If they never expired, you could just buy 10 games over 5 years time and then get the best prize. They don't want that to happen.

On EU some of the platinum discounts include Yoshi's:WW, MK7 and ALBW, the may be more gold ones but platinum offers are still as good as the gold. Gold coins expiring is pretty much like club points expiring, imo gold ones should have a longer window before expiring.

They are looking into it, but people including myself expected that physical games are to be rewarded from the start of launch.. is not the case but is currently how it is which is why it's mentioned.

I would be surprised to see physical games not be rewarded, but the question is when

After only 5 days?

As of now, I'm easily earning points and coins by just logging in daily, doing some small tasks..so the points and stuff pile up. Gotta spend it somewhere, right? They probably want consumers to be able to use points and coins more frequently, thus, the 6 month expiration date. Then again, anything could happen in 6 months that would entice consumers to use these points and coins. We'll just see how things go since (again) its been only 5 days since My Nintendo and Miitomo have been released outside of Japan..

It overall sounds like My Nintendo is a step down from Club Ninten.

You can only get coins from digital games, and they expire sooner? Come on Nintendo, get it together. Where are the physical goods even?!

Those silver and Miitomo coins barely mean anything, just small discounts and some games not good enough for the gold coins.  Its not even worth using the discount since you get a bigger discount from E3 promotion and there's more promotions throughout the year, bestbuy and amazon already had 2 so far this year.  I don't care how long its been, as of now it sucks and pales in comparison to club nintendo, which is saying a lot since people were happy it was getting replaced with a new rewards program.
