My phone is pretty bad though so it wouldn't run smoothly as I would like :p

iirc, you only get Miitomo points? Not sure what the difference is, but it's not like I have a time limit :D

Looking at some rewards, it seems like miitomo points are equivalent to platinum points so they are actually useful to get rewards, if they weren't I wouldn't care about miitomo.

I agree. I was able to get a really chic outfit together without dropping any real money too, which is nice.
